First Birthday

I can't believe I'm back with another card so soon.... although I must admit to having coloured up this gorgeous Wee stamp a couple of weeks ago and I'd already got some Cheery Lynn flower dies cut and just waiting to be stuck together. I used a cream base card and also cream card for matting the image and the papers are from my snippets box. The ribbon, pearls and peel off sentiment are all from my stash and to finish I decorated the cake with Stickles and a little gem flower

After I'd taken the photo I noticed the gems had gone a little skew-wiff - but glad to say they're all straight now.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Magnolia-licious challenge 'anything goes with a stamp carried by Magnolia-licious store'
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'pink and cream with lots of bling'
In The Pink challenge 'make it sparkle'

Wee Cutie

Hi everyone and thanks for calling by to visit today. Sorry I've not been around but last week I thought I'd have a ride out in the car to my Dad's and also into the village to do a spot of shopping and I've spent the last few days regretting it! Why oh why can't our bodies age at the same rate as our minds?! Anyway I gave myself the proverbial kick up the b... and made this card.

First off I used a freebie image from Sylvia Zet which I coloured with Promarkers and if you want this image for yourself you can find it here. I embossed a leftover piece of card with an Embassalicious folder  - this is actually a 6x6 inch folder but I think it works okay on smaller pieces of card too - and rounded all the corners with a punch before sticking to the base card. Then I added some die-cut flowers - the sprig is Marianne Designs and the daisies are Cheery Lynn with some card candi centres - and a silver peel-off sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Beside the Seaside

Although it's a bit chilly for anything more than a paddle today!

I've had this little project in mind for a week or so now and finally got round to making it yesterday. It's a booklet for notes, stories, drawings, photos or whatever and made from a couple of sheets white A4 card and whatever else was lying around.

First I cut the A4 sheets into three and hole punched each of the pieces before scoring all except one (for the back sheet) to make it easy to fold the pages and then tying together with some bits of ribbon.
To make the beach scene I coloured a piece of white card with some chalk for the sky and used Memento ink for the sun. Then I added a piece of coloured card for the sand, and the sea is an embossed piece of card again coloured with Memento ink - both pieces were cut at the top with Tonic Studio fancy edging scissors. I made some little beach huts from snippets of card and layered the scene onto some blue shiny card before sticking to the front of the booklet.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Zesty Sunbursts

I'm not sure where the days have gone to this month and I'm getting way behind with my blog visits again. I also had some new stamps drop through the letterbox this morning so I thought I'd better have a quick play.

This is another Penny Black called Sunbursts which I inked up with Memento inks. As I wanted to make a smaller card I cut the image down and matted it onto some nice bright card and then stamped the sentiment (which was a magazine freebie and can't remember who by). I had every intention of getting out the needle and cotton and doing a bit of hand stitching around the image but decided that a ruler and gel pen would be the better option as I hadn't got any bright coloured cotton. I couldn't decide whether to put the image central to the card or at an angle, but fate (and strong sticky stuff) made the decision for me!

Snowballing Penguins

We're already in August and if I blink I'm certain that I'll find myself in December... so with that thought in mind I decided it was time to get on with another christmas card.

I've used a few of my favourites for this card - a fun Bugaboo image coloured with (of course) Promarkers, a Tattered Lace snowflake die and a snippet of the lovely LOTV 'frosty christmas' paper. Now I'm sure there are many of you just like me who are hoarding every tiny leftover piece of your LOTV paper pads and hoping that they reconsider and start producing them again before you use the very last sheet. They were just so pretty and fresh looking as well as a great size and quality. I used silver mirricard to matt the image and cut the die, and if you're wondering why the centre of the snowflake has Stickles on it..... well maybe I shouldn't have started squeezing the bottle before my hand had reached the snowballs!

Can you see the sun shining through the window onto my card?

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'a touch of sparkle'
As You Like It challenge 'favourite papers and why'

Jubilant

Another month almost gone and so has the hot sunny weather...  but at least it's nice and dry today and the sun keeps peeping out.

I told you a while back that I'd treated myself to some Penny Black cling stamps and here's another of them called 'Jubilant' and coloured with Promarkers. I was going to keep it all white but decided it looked better framed onto a paper from Dovecraft 'princess fairytale' and I went for a CAS design just adding a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Uniko Studios challenge 'flowers'
Tuesday Throwdown challenge 'happy birthday'
Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'CAS'
Colour Crazy challenge 'anything goes'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a super weekend whatever you get up to.

Little Boxes

You know with paper pads there are always some sheets you just don't get around to using for whatever reason so I decided to make some little origami gift boxes. These each take two 6 inch papers with snippets of card stuck inside the lid and base to strengthen them. Then you decorate with anything to hand - in this case some die-cut snippets, gems, butterflies and flowers.

So quick and easy to make - if you want a bigger box just get out those 8 inch and 12 inch papers and they're ideal for giving gifts in.

I made these so I could join in with the Allsorts challenge which is 'anything but a card' and as I used some snippets I'm also heading over to see the playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground

Rudolph Day

Hi everyone, I was very lucky to be invited as guest DT over at the Rudolph Day challenge which is hosted by the fabulous Maureen of Scraps of Life by Scrappymo. The 'anything goes christmas' challenges start on the 25th and close on the last day of each month and there is a fabulous prize to be won, so I hope you will head over to join in the fun as well as get a start on your christmas makes.

For my Rudolph card I used a Giordano decoupage sheet from Joanna Sheen, Bo Bunny paper and gold mirricard for matting. With the fabulous decoupage image I didn't think it needed any embellishments so just added a sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Cute Card Thursday challenge 'in the round'
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'christmas in July'
Hiding in My Craft Room challenge 'christmas in July'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'christmas + use a sentiment'

And here's the other Penny Black

Wow, what a fabulous person Darnell is..... she packed this glorious weather in her suitcase and bought it all the way over here to England for us to enjoy and I must say I'm enjoying every second of it. For those of you who don't know her then I would encourage you to pay a visit as she's sure to brighten your day with her fun tales.

Anyways on with my card...... in my last post I used a Penny Black stamp 'flower gala' and told you there were 2 stamps in this set, well this is the other stamp. I coloured it with my usual Promarkers with a few touches of Sakura glitter pen added (but they don't show up in the photo), wrapped a piece of lace (the last little bit I have) around, then matted onto some pearlescent card before attaching to the base card. The sentiment was a preprinted one (but not sure where from) which I cut with a nesting die and then stuck to a Marianne Designs fancy circle die cut from the snippet of leftover pearlescent card. I die-cut 2 butterflies also from card snippets and covered them with Stickles and added pearls for the bodies. To finish I added a bow and a couple of heart shaped pearls.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'summer flowers'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'anything goes with a stamp and ribbon'
Uniko challenge 'flowers'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'use any image'
Noor! Design UK challenge 'anything goes + option of chipboard'
Aurora Wings challenge 'tic tac toe' (I used lace / flowers / bow)

I'm sorry I haven't been around blogland much lately but I'm still trying to get myself fit. I went for an MRI scan yesterday so should have the results in a couple of weeks or so and then I can get things sorted. Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a great week.
