Wedding card

For my card today I decided to try a totally different style and to be quite honest I wasn't sure how to make it. I started off with something I'd seen on the internet called a 'Joy' card, but I also wanted to make a window style to use my new die. So it was a case of making things up as I went along!!

The Background papers are from Bearly Mine Designs and the image is a LOTV die-cut. The dies I used are all Cheery Lynn - FRM141 for the window, B117 for the leafy flourishes and DL112 for the butterfly. The paper flowers were from my stash.

Okay - so as a first attempt I was quite pleased, but I think I would make a few adjustments to the design next time.

Summer Tilda & Dies Tag

Good Morning to you all. Thanks for dropping by and for any comments you may leave as I love reading them all.

I usually don't do anything fancy if I make a tag but I decided to do something a bit different and this is what I came up with.
I got a free gift with a magazine a while ago of some Raspberry Road Designs A4  paper collection. This was in the form of a booklet with a thick glossy cover which also had beautiful designs printed on it, so with 'waste not' being my motto, this has formed the base of my tag cut with Marianne Designs Creatable LR0111.
The Tilda image is coloured with pencil crayons and chalked on the edge. The other dies I used are Marianne Creatables LR0154 for the little name tag which was also chalked on the edges, LR 0157 lavender sprig, Cheery Lynn B117 leafy flourish and DL112 butterflies. The flowers, gems and ribbon are all from my stash.

Red, White and Blue Canary

There are quite a few red, white and blue challenges around at the moment so I thought I'd make a card following the colour scheme. This will be only the second one I've made this year as it's not the colour combo I would normally go for.
First off I coloured the Saturated Canary image in blue and red, but that ended up in the bin and I decided to stick to red and white with a blue balloon. The backing paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and the flowers are Craftime Colour Connection (bought especially for ths card). I used Cheery Lynn dies B117 Flourish and DL112 butterfly. I do have a couple more Cheery Lynn dies, but seem to end up using these two all the time!!  The gems and lace were from my stash

The photo shows the card a bit lighter than it actually is.

Summer Days Tilda

My card today is for a few challenges using a sketch, colour scheme and themes. This is the sketch from That Craft Place challenge

The colour scheme was Pink, Purple & Green - not my ideal colours but then I found this green patterned background paper from Paper Cellar Ltd which I thought was ideal. The pink flowered paper is Pink Petticoat Wild Blossoms. The image of Tilda eating her ice cream, coloured with pencil crayons is to follow the theme 'Lazy Days of Summer' for the Tilda's Town challenge (which I was lucky enough to win last week).
I cut the bunting by hand and added punched daisy shapes. The tiny butterfly was also punched and the ribbon. pearls, stick on heart & sentiment were all from my stash

Round card

Hi to you and thanks for dropping by.

Today I've got a card for 3 challenges - a round card, a pink & green colour scheme, and a holiday theme.

I've used a Marianne Designs image coloured with pencil crayons for the holiday theme. The dies I used were all Marianne Designs - LR0180 to make a frame which I coloured with pink chalk, LR0111 flowers, LR0156 leaves, LR0157 lavender & flourish, and CR1216 flower vine. The sentiment was layered onto the smallest die from LR0180.

Mice in the Garden

I know I said I wouldn't be making anymore male cards for a while, but I couldn't resist using this gorgous LOTV die cut of little mice doing the gardening.
The backing paper is from Webster's Pages and the dies I used are all Marianne Creatables LR0202 Anja Edge, LR0189 Flower, and LR0154 Tag. I finished the tag with a peel off sentiment and a button. Not a fussy card - but then it is for a man.

Tilda in Lavender and Lace

Hello to you all - followers old & new and anyone else who just pops by.

This is a card that nearly never was as I didn't quite like the sketch, but luckily I decided to give it a  go because I am so pleased with the result. This is the sketch I nearly didn't use from Sketch 'n' Stash

The background papers are both from Bearly Mine Designs and the image is Tilda coloured with my trusty pencil crayons . Instead of cutting the image out as an oval I decided to make an oval frame from pearlescent card which I think gives it a better finish. I used Marianne Creatables dies LR0143 for the corners and LR0157 for the lavender sprigs. The sentiment was free with a magazine, the lace and pearls from my stash.

Roses and sunshine

I've just been watching a dvd that I picked up at the shops today - 'Ghost' with Demi Moore & Patrick Swayze - and it was just as good as when I first saw it all those years ago.

The card I've made today follows a sketch from Willow Sketchie

The image is a Saturated Canary that I coloured with pencil crayons and the background paper I've used is from Raspberry Road Designs. The white card I embossed with Spellbinders Impressabilities 'Flowers' template and the dies I used are Cheery Lynn B117 fanciful flourish and DL112 small butterfly. The roses are from Hobbycraft and the ribbons & lace are from my stash. The photo isnt the greatest as the lighting wasn't very good

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Willow Sketchie challenge 'Sketch and / or Favourite colour combo' (I used both)
Cheery Lynn Designs challenge 'Roses'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Use ribbon or lace' (I used both)
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Girls, Girls, Girls'

Father's Day Edwin

I have another male card to show you today which will be the last one for a while as I'm feeling the need for a bit of girliness with flowers and lace.

For this card I've combined 2 Tilda/Edwin challenges and the sketch I've followed is from the Tilda's Town challenge

As the Just Magnolia challenge is Father's Day I've used an Edwin image which I coloured with pencil crayons. The blue patterned background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs, the clouds paper is from the Joanna Sheen 'Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady' cd and the other papers are from my scrap box. I finished it off with a silver peel-off sentiment on a circle of white card.

White on white

Hi to you lovely people and thanks for dropping by.

I am a bit late making this card as I've been waiting for inspiration to strike, but it didn't !! The fact is I don't like making white on white cards but I was determined to have a go and this is what I came up with.

I did a little bit of embossing by hand on the base card and then added a piece of flower embossed card with sticky pads. I used Marianne Creatables dies LR0180 layered doily and LR0115 butterfly for the die-cuts and dusted the edges of these as well as the embossed card with pink chalk so they would stand out. Then I added a sentiment which I had from a magazine.

I really would appreciate your comments - good or bad - and any tips you may have for making white on white cards.

Card for a man / boy

Welcome to my blog on this very miserable wet day. If you have the time to leave a comment it would be very much appreciated as I love readding what you have to say

I've made a male card today using a one colour theme and following a sketch from Totally Gorjuss

The sweet little boy fishing is a die-cut image from Lili of the Valley - great to have around for when you don't have time to colour - and layered onto green card. I'm not sure about the background paper as it is cut from an A4 sheet which came with a magazine. The embellishments are both Cheery Lynn, Fanciful Flourish B117 and Exotic Butterfly DL112. The oval was hand cut with gold peel-off numbers.

Father's Day card

Well things are getting back to normal now the jubilee bank holiday is over. Hope you all had fun, whatever you were doing. We went to Cambridge for a couple of days so I took the chance to visit the Hobbycraft store and bought my first set of Promarkers (well 2 sets actually). I've had a go at using them but at the moment I still prefer my pencil crayons as I seem to have more control over the colours - but I will persevere.

My post today is a Father's Day card made using an image from the Joanna Sheen 'Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady' cd. I printed it twice so I could cut out two of the birds and layer up on sticky pads to give a bit of depth to the image. The pale blue background paper which I got from a local craft shop has a textured look and feel to it. The other blue paper is from my scrap box and the sentiment is from the same cd.
