Turquoise card

Just a quick post today as I decided last minute to make a card for a colour challenge which ends in a couple of hours.

I ordered the raspberry plate for my Grand Calibur yesterday and it arrived in this mornings post (how about that for speed and effiency) so I was able to have a go with the embosing folder which I got free with a magazine. I've got a couple of Impressabilities but they don't seem to emboss so well and now I've tried out an embossing folder I can see that I will be adding a few to my shopping list!!

I've used a couple of dies - Cheery Lynn DL112 butterflies and Marianne Creatables LR0129 for the flower - as well as the aforementioned freebie flower & butterfly embossing folder. The turquoise card I've used for the dies and to layer the embossed card onto is some I've had for an absolute age and luckily I had some bits of ribbon which are an exact match. Then I just added a pearl to the centre of the flower and a couple of smaller ones in the top corrner.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Turquoise or Aqua'
Penny's Paper-Crafty challenge Anything Goes' (my 3rd entry)
Deep Ocean challenge 'Letter B' (butterflies) (my 2nd entry)
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Flowers and Pearls' (my 3rd entry)
Crafty Catz challenge 'Dies and Punches'
Paper Creator's Crafts challenge 'Flowery Delight'

Thanks for droppng by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend

A Sassy Birthday and a Game of Bingo at the PCJ Challenge

Good Morning to you all and I'd like to say a special hello to my new followers. I feel so chuffed that you like my creations enough to follow my blog and leave me such lovely comments.

Today I have my DT card for the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey to show you. This fortnights' challenge is sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs who are offering the lucky winner 4 images. The theme for this challenge is 'Bingo' so just pick any row - horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

My choice was the top row - lace / gems / sentiment

We were able to pick a sponsors' image to work with and I chose 'Martini Pin Up Girl' as she looks like she is having a lot of fun and that's what birthdays are all about. I printed the image twice, coloured it with Promarkers and on the glass I used Sakura Glaze pen. Then I decoupaged it to add some depth. I also used one of my new dies before putting it in the cupboard so I am managing to keep to my resolution although I haven't managed to stick to the part about not buying any new ones!!

Here's what I used
Image - Sassy Studio Designs 'Martini Pin Up Girl'
Papers - My Minds Eye 'Lost and Found', Wild Rose Studio 'Butterfly Garden', Dovecraft 'Back to Basics III'
Dies - Memory Box 'Elegant Srollwork', Marianne Creattables LR0180 (just the centre part)
Stash - pearls, gems, teardrop charm, ribbon, lace & silver peel-off sentiment

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Live and Love Crafts challenge 'Tina's Sketch'
Inky Chicks challenge 'Mothers Day or Birthday'
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge 'Pink + any other colour'
Dream Valley challenge 'Ribbon and Bling'
C.R.A.F.T. challenge 'Recipe'

Creative Card Crew challenge 'Birthday' (my 2nd entry)

Forty..... and Still Full Of Beans

Another day, another card and I'm starting to get back into the swing of things now, although I do wish I'd got as much energy as the little mice on the card I have to show you today.

The design is one I've used before and I've also used the same papers from Raspberry Road Designs as they looked so good with the Joanna Sheen House Mouse decoupage which is from the Food and Drink 2 collection. The die is Marianne Creatables LR0201 and the pearls and ribbon are from my stash. Finally I added gold peel off sentiment and numbers.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Crafty Catz challenge 'Bingo' (pearls, dies, ribbon)

WOW with Flowers and Wings

Hi to you all and thanks for taking the time to drop by. Firstly let me apologise for not having been visiting much this past week or so... I have had those horrible germs that I can't seem to shake off so have been suffering with my sinuses and aching eyes. I will make sure I get round to visit you over the next few days though.

If you were to ask me which of my crafting tools I couldn't do without then I would have to say my Grand Calibur which my dad bought me a year ago. There are such a variety of dies and I can't help but buy more whenever there are any sales or new designs and then I only use them once or twice. So I reckon it's time to start using them a bit more and I've made this card today, which I must admit I am pleased with.

This is what I used
Hammered texture base card
From my stash - Pearls, Sentiment (attached with sticky pads)
Dies - Memory Box 'Fairytale Flower Border' (this is really fabulous)
Cheery Lynn DL112 Exotic Butterfly, B193 Hummingbird & B152 Miniature Rose
Punch - Dovecraft Daisy (for the flower centres)

Here's another angle to show the 3D of the dies

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Simon Says Stamp challenge 'White on White'
Dies To Die For challenge 'Flower Power'
Allsorts challenge 'Things With Wings'
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Flowers and Pearls'

Spring is Here.... I Wish!!

Hello to you all and I hope you're keeping well.

I had a set of nesting dies arrive in the post today so I just had to have a play and thought they'd be ideal to use with a new stamp I'd just inked up. The theme I was following was 'spring' and I'd got halfway through making the card when the snow started falling, so the title of this post is a bit of wishful thinking.

The light wasn't too good so this photo is a bit blurred. I shall have to take another tomorrrow in the daylight.

Okay so here's some better photos taken in the daylight

This is what I used
Image - 'A fairy resting on mushroom' by Tina Wenke from Stampavie
~ coloured with Promarkers and Stickles added on the wings
Dies - Lifestyle Quickcutz nesting frame 9 (this is a set of 8 dies)
        - Marianne Creatable LR0157 decorative elegance, Cheery Lynn DL112 butterfly
Paper - Wild Rose Studio 'Butterfly Garden'
Stash - flowers, pearls, paper hearts

I shall enter this in the following challenges

White on White Wedding

I don't know about you but I'm getting a bit fed up with winter and can't wait for spring to arrive. No snow here but it's been raining since we got up this morning and doesn't look like stopping anytime soon. Well as I won't be able to go out and play I guess I'll just have to get my stamps out later !!

When looking through some challenge themes yesterday I had the idea for this card. I always love white on white as it seems to work so well on wedding cards and the dies I've used have such a delicate look. I used a hammered effect base card and also a LOTV topper as I have rather a large stack to be used up. This was my first time at using liquid pearls for the flower centres and I definitely need more practice !!

Here's what I used
Image - LOTV Weddings topper
Dies - all Cheery Lynn B117 Fanciful Flourish, B152 Miniature Rose and DL112 Exotic Butterfly Small
From my stash - pearls, paper doiley

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Just a quick post from me this evening to show you another card using one of the decoupage images I made up the other day. This is from the Marianne Designs Snoesjes Party sheet and I've layered it onto a Marianne Creatables LR0129 doiley. Papertake Weekly challenge 'Anything Goes with the optional extra to use Yellow/Lemon'

Queen of Hearts with the PCJ challenge and Saturated Canary

Hello to you all and thanks for dropping by.
Today sees the start of the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey with the them of 'LOVE' and it's sponsored by the wonderful Krista Smith who is offering a prize of 2 Saturated Canary images. So if you want to be in with a chance to get your hands on some Saturated Canary then pop over to the challenge blog and join in.

Krista kindly gave all the DT members an image of their choice to work with and I picked the 'Queen of Hearts' which I coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment was done on the computer when I printed off the image. Then I just layered onto a pece of red card which I had punched with a Dovecraft border punch and then onto the white base card. Finally I went over the hearts with a  Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze pen to give them a bit of shine.

Chocolate Mice

Good Morning to you all and thanks for dropping by. Well methinks it may be a good day today... the sun is shining and the postie has just delivered a package containing some more goodies.

For my card today I have used another of the fabulous House Mouse 'Food and Drink 2' collection decoupage sheets from Joanna Sheen which I matted onto some pearlescent card. I've kept to a CAS style with monochrome colours and just added a couple of flowers made using Marianne Creatables LR0111 die and a couple of gems for the centres. I can't remember what the background paper is, but it probably was free with a magazine.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Let's Go Monochrome'
House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'Anything Goes with Special Cuts' (flowers are die cut and I cut out the decoupage)
Creative Card Crew challenge 'Chocolate'
Dies To Die For challenge 'Anything Goes'

I hope you all have a good day and I'd love it if you could take the time to leave a comment.

One For The Boys

Before christmas I was lucky enough to win some advent candy from the Snoesjes blog - in the form of some Marianne Designs Snoesjes decoupage sheets. So over the last few days I've been cutting and sticking and with 12 decoupaged Snoesjes in front of me I had to decide what I could do with them. They are all brightly coloured so just the thing for kids cards and I decided on a CAS style, small rectangle card with top fold. I also thought this was a good opportunity to use up scraps of paper as well as any bits & pieces I've had for ages such as the peel-off sentiment and stars.

This is the card I came up with. So that's one done and only eleven more to go!

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Sketch Free For All' (I used sketch 27)
Creative Inspirations challenge 'One For The Guys'
ABC challenge 'G for Going Dotty'
Allsorts challenge 'Let's Get Cute'
Cards Galore challenge 'One For The Men'
The Crafty Bloggers Network challenge 'Anything Goes'

Love and Marriage

Gosh, I can't believe it's a week since I made my last card. The days and weeks are just flying by and we're into February all ready - still it is nicer now that the days are getting a little bit longer.

With all the Valentines and Love themes around at the moment it put me in the mood to make a wedding card as I haven't made one for such a long time and also I've used one of my new purchases before it gets put in the cupboard - my Don and Daisy stamp. I used Promarkers to colour the image and added Stickles to the dress and veil.

Here's what I used
Image - Marianne Design 'Don and Daisy'
Sentiment - stamp free with magazine
Papers - all from My Mind's Eye 'Lost & Found Two'
Dies - Marianne Creatables LR0111 flower, LR0156 leaves and LR0182 bell (which I layered onto card)
