Birthday Bees

Happy easter to you all. I hope you're enjoying the long weekend break and maybe even a choccie egg or two. The sun is shining here in the East Midlands but it's still a bit on the chilly side.

I was lucky enough to win the challenge over at Winter Wonderland the other week and my prize was 2 Wild Rose Studio stamps ( a big thank you to Dulcie and Matthew) and this was one of my choices. It's one of the fabulous new cling stamps called 'Bees with cupcake' and I coloured it with Promarkers. The papers are from Bearly Mine Designs ( a freebie - thanks Donna) and Dovecraft 'Back to Basics'. I wanted to use daisies but as I hadn't got any, nor had I a daisy die, I  had to improvise and I used Cheery Lynn B152 Miniature Rose die with a hole punched yellow dot for the centre. I'm pleased with the way they turned out - they look quite like daisies to me. The sentiment stamp was free with a magazine and the ribbon is  from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Deep Ocean challenge 'Photo Inspiration' (I was inspired by the colours and flowers - especially the daisies)
That Craft Place challenge 'Animals - including birds, butterflies etc'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Sketchie free for all' ( I picked sketch no. 35)
Charisma Cardz challenge 'Happy Birthday'
Cheery Lynn Designs challenge 'Celebrate'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'Spring is in the Air'
Simon Says Stamp challenge 'Anything Goes'
The Paper Shelter challenge 'Anything Goes'

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you may be doing xx

Easter Kitten

Well here's my third card in as many days. The sun isn't shining today and we've had a few flakes of snow so I thought it was time to make another cheerful springtime card for Easter.

This time I decided to go for something a bit different from rabbits or eggs and picked this lovely decoupage sheet from Marianne Design. The die is also Marianne Design Creatable LR0111 and I've used a hammered effect base card and some flowers and gems from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Marianne Design challenge 'Use a Marianne stamp / 3D image and a Creatable'
Dies to Die for challenge 'Spring' (my 2nd entry)
Live and Love Crafts challenge 'Easter'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'Easter Wishes'

Thanks for dropping by and for taking the time to leave me such lovely comments. I really appreciate them.

A Sparkly Pink Winter

Well it's another chilly day here in the East midlands, but at least the sun has been shining again and the snow has started melting.

For my card today I started off with all the papers, embellies and such like as well as the sketch that I intended to use set out on the table in front of me... and then I made something completely different. It was one of those inspiration moments where I just couldn't bear to take anything away from this oh so sweet image, so it's ended up with no papers and minimal embellies.

The image is Nellie Snellen 'Sharing a Biscuit' which I coloured with Promarkers and chalks (for the sky). I matted this onto silver mirri card and then onto a hammered card base. A while ago I had one of those 'doing' moments when I got a load of paper bits and cut a lot of flowers using various different dies and just put them in a box, so I'm not sure which of my dies I used for these flowers. I added a couple of pearls and a bow from my stash and then emptied the bottle of Stickles for sparkle.

The photo isn't so great as the sun insisted on poking his head through the window.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Pretty in Pink'
Crafty Catz challenge 'Sparkle with a Bow'
Charisma Cardz challenge 'Die-cuts'
Bearly Mine challenge 'Girly Pink'
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge 'Anything Goes'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Girly' (my 2nd entry)
Sparkles Christmas challenge '3 flowers, 2 gems, 1 image' (my 2nd entry)
Natalie and Amy's challenge 'Die-cuts' (my 2nd entry)
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Come Rain or Shine - weather related'

Hope you're having a good week and thanks for dropping by.

Springtime

Hi to you all and thanks for popping by.

I've made a card today for some challenges with a 'spring' theme and the sun actually shone through the window while I was making it. I can't wait for all this snow to disappear and the warm weather to make an appearance.
I've used a Lili of the Valley image coloured with Promarkers and the background paper is Dovecraft 'Back to Basics'. The dies are Memory Box 'spring border' and Cheery Lynn 'small butterfly and the embossing folder I used was free with a magazine. To finish off I added some lace to the border die and made a tag with a silver peel-off sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Dies to Die for challenge 'Spring' (Memory Box die and Cheery Lynn dies available here and here)
The Sketchy challenge 'Jane's sketch'
Lili's Little Fairies challenge 'Spring Colours'
Simon Says Stamp challenge 'Easter / Spring'

Fresh & Sassy at Paper Crafting Journey

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey which is sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs who are giving the lucky winner 4 images of their choice. The theme this fortnight is 'Ribbon or Lace' or both if you wish - as I did.

We were lucky enough to get an image of our choice and I picked Miranda Sassy - I think it reminds me of times gone by when I was young and hitting the disco!! I decided on the green and white colour scheme as it looks so fresh but as I hadn't got any green or white ribbon I used cream and coloured it with a Promarker pen to match the dress.

Here's what I used
Image - Sassy Studio Designs 'Miranda Sassy' coloured with Promarkers
Papers - Pink Paislee 'Spring Jubilee'
Bearly Mine Designs - a freebie found here (thanks Donna)
From my stash - Sentiment, flowers, ribbon, bow, lace and pearls

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Green and White'
Sketch N Stash challenge 'Sketch - with the option of spring colours'
The ABC challenge 'J for Just As You Like It'
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop challenge 'Happy Birthday' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for dropping by and why don't you pop over to Paper Crafting Journey to see what my team mates have made.

I Thought I Was Collecting Chocolate Eggs

Two posting in one day - I haven't done that for a while.

My second card is for an easter / spring theme. The sweet image is from LOTV which I coloured with Promarkers and chalks (for the sky) and the papers are Dovecraft 'Back to Basics'. I used Marianne Creatable dies LR0180 for the doiley and LR0111 for the flowers with a touch of liquid pearls for the flower centres. The sentiment was from a House Mouse decoupage sheet and finally I added a couple of punched butterflies.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

A Little Bird Told Santa......

Hi to you all and I hope all is well in your corner of the world.

My card today is one I made a while ago but never got around to blogging. This is a decoupaged image from Joanna Sheen's 'Giordano Christmas Creations' cd and I would recommend this cd to anyone as it contains the most magical christmas images. I tried placing the decoupage on all sorts of papers but  it definitely looked best on plain red card so that's where it stayed and I just added the sentiment and a flowery topper that I'd bought years ago.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
CRAFT challenge 'Christmas in March'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'A Little Bird'
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'Birds'

I'm off now to see if I can try to understand all this I'm reading about Google reader. I'm a bit confused as I when I log in to Blogger I have my reading list of sites I follow and I would have to click on an icon to view in Google reader (which I never do as I prefer to go to each individual blog to catch up with people). So if any of you clever people out there can direct me to an idiots guide.... !!

Snow Inspiration

Hi all. I was trying to find a witty title for this post seeing as it's March and we still keep getting the odd flake or two of snow, but the little grey cells couldn't come up with anything and as this card is based on a photo inspiration this is all I could think of.

When I saw the inspirational photo I immediately thought of this Mo Manning snowman and coloured him up with Promarkers. The papers I've used are from Marianne Design 'Scandinavian Christmas' and Forever Friends 'A Christmas Tale' and I layered them onto white card which I edged with a gold calligrapher pen. I used Memory Box Fancy Blossoms die and Dovecraft daisy punch to make the flowers. Finally I added a couple of gems and a touch of Stickles to the centre of the flowers and the snow.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Mo's Digital challenge 'Anything Goes w/a Mo image'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Photo Inspiration' (I was inspired by the snowman and snowy blue sky'

Papertake Weekly challenge '1, 2, 3' (I used 1 image, 2 gems, 3 flowers)

Ladybug Crafts challenge 'The Colour Blue' (my 2nd entry)

Best Friends

Good morning to you all. It's another chilly day but at least it's dry and I've managed to get the washing hung out on the line. I have just a quick post today and then I really must get on with some housework.

I've used another of the Marianne Design Snoesjes decoupages I made up the other week. The background paper is from Raspberry Road Designs and the dies are all Marianne Creatables - LR0129, LR0154 and LR0161. I just finished it off with a gem for the flower centre and there you have it - a quick and simple card.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

The Paper Shelter challenge 'Punches and Dies'
That Craft Place challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)

Mother Mouse

I hope you are all well in whatever corner of the world you're at. I just can't believe the weather today - one minute the sun is out and next there's snow falling. It is bitterly cold though and I'm glad we've got the shopping done and I can snuggle up indoors with a nice hot cupa.

I have a card today for a few 'mothers day' challenges which are still running. It's quite a simple layout using another of the fabulous Joanna Sheen  House Mouse decoupages from the 'Food and Drink 2' collection. I thought this was perfect with mother mouse 'trying' to keep control of all those mischievous little ones. The background paper and sentiment were both free with magazines and I used Marianne Creatable dies LR0156 and LR0111 for the flower with a gem in the centre.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'for Mum'
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Mum's the Word'

Little Boy Blue

Hello to you all on this chilly Sunday and a special hello to all my followers.

A few weeks ago I was going to enter a challenge with the theme 'blue and brown' but never got any further than colouring the image, so today I decided it was time to make a card with it. As it's for a boy I decided to keep it quite simple. The stamp is from Marianne Design and I coloured it with Promarkers. I used Marianne Creatables LR0161 for the 2 'lace' strips and the paper came with a magazine ages ago. The silver peel-offs, ribbon, twine and button are all from my stash.
I much prefer how this turned out compared to what I'd intended for the blue/brown theme.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Deep Ocean challenge 'For a Boy'
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge 'Add a Number'
Penny Black and More challenge 'One For the Boys'
Ladybug Crafts challenge 'The Colour Blue'

Thanks for popping by and to all of those mums out there I hope you enjoyed your Mothers Day.

A Bearry Christmas

Just a very quick post as I went to enter this card in a challenge which ends in less than an hour!!

A Secret Box for Mum

Good Morning to you all. I hope you're having a good week and looking forward to the weekend.
We have a new challenge starting today over at the Paper Crafting Journey which is sponsored by The Paper Shelter who are giving the lucky winner a $20 gift certificate for their store.
This fortnight we have the theme 'anything but a card' so I decided to try something I'd never made before - a secret box with a miniature mother's day card.

After I'd made the box I used cream hammered card as a base for the panels and top. The gorgous fairy is by The Paper Shelter which I coloured with Promarkers and then cut out and attached with sticky pads. I used several different dies for the other 3 panels. For the miniature mothers day card I used stamps and pencil crayons. There are quite a few photos showing all the panels and I've listed what I used at the end.

Here's what I used
Image -  The Paper Shelter 'A little bit grumpy'
Paper - Pink Petticoat 'Vintage Rose collection'
Stamps for miniature card - all free with magazine
Punches - butterfly, daisy
Dies - Marianne Creatables LR0111, LR0129, LR0154, LR0156, LR0157, LR0180 & Craftable CR1211
From my stash - ribbon, gems and a stick-on butterfly

So why don't you head over to Paper Crafting Journey to have a look at what my team mates have made and we'd love you to join in so we can see all your creations.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'Anything Goes with Pink'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Add Ribbon or Twine' (I went for ribbon)
Bearly-Mine challenge 'Mother's Day'
Everybody-Art challenge 'Butterfly'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Anything Goes with the option Mother's Day or Special Female'

POP Goes the Balloon !!

I must apologise for being such a bad blogger and also for my lack of visits to you all. The germs that I thought I'd got rid off came back with a vengeance and I've hardly touched my computer for a week.

I have a card to show you today which is a very simple design using a fabulous House Mouse decoupage from the 'Fruit and Nut' collection. I love this image and as I look at it I'm almost waiting for the little hummingbirds to pop the balloon !! I'm not sure what the background paper is as it came with a magazine. I used blue and green flowers and added punched and die-cut centres to match the blueberries and leaves in the decoupage.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
House Mouse & Friends challenge 'Wings'
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Layer it up'
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything Goes'
Divas By Design challenge 'Anything Goes'
Simon Says Stamp challenge 'Anything Goes'
The Paper Shelter challenge 'Animal Magic'
