Getting Sentimental With LOTV

Hello and thanks for dropping by. Today I have a christmas card to show you which I've been making for the past week and have now finally finished.

I used an image from one of my stack of LOTV die cut sheets which are no longer available and the sentiment is a LOTV christmas grungy stamp. The papers are Kaisercraft and Jennifer Ellory and the die is Marianne Creatables LR0180. The gold peel-off corner, pearls and ribbon are from my stash and finally I added 3 tiny punched snowflakes to which I'd added Stickles. I love using pearls, ribbons and die-cuts to embellish my cards because of the variety of colours and styles you can get.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
LOTV's Ideas To Inspire challenge 'Use a Sentiment'
Lili's Little Fairies challenge 'Easy As 1 2 3'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Recipe - 3 snowflakes, 2 papers, 1 image'
As You Like It challenge 'Favourite 3 Embellishments and Why'
Divas By Design challenge 'Pretty Pearls'
CraftyHazelnut's Christmas challenge 'All Wrapped Up'
Simon Says challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)

Anything But Square with Kenny K over at the PCJ challenge

It's Thursday and that means a new challenge is starting over at the Paper Crafting Journey. This fortnight we want you to make anything but a square card and our sponsor is Kenny K Downloads who are offering the lucky winner 5 digital images.

The DT were very lucky and were given some fabulous images to play with and I've used Paige Parasol. I printed her off a few times so that I could make a decoupaged image which I coloured with Promarkers. I made the card base with an A4 sheet of card which I folded and then I used a QuicKutz nesting die to shape the top edge. The background paper is from Raspberry Road Designs and I cut the top in the same way. Then I added some blue gems to the front panel, a gold peel-off to the centre panel and a decoupaged hat to the final panel.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'Steampunk or Vintage'
Whimsy Stamps challenge 'Shaped Cards'
The Hobby House challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 4th entry)
Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge 'Anything Goes'
Crafts and Me challenge 'Anything Goes'
Crafting For All Seasons challenge 'Make it Girly'
Simon Says challenge 'Anything Goes'

So if you fancy a chance to win some super Kenny K images then why don't you head over to the PCJ challenge and show us your fablous creations.

A Boy and His Dog

Hi to you all and thanks for popping by. I'm not doing much blogging lately as my back is still playing up - it seems to be a case of one step forward and two steps backwards at the moment and I must admit it is driving me mad not being able to do things.
I am trying to do a bit of crafting though and as I had a Snoesjes decoupage already made up I decided to make a simple card using some scraps of paper and a silver peel-off sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Father's Day or a Male card'
Dream Valley challenge 'Father's Day / Male theme'
Cupcake Crafts challenge 'Let's Get Sentimental'
Little Claire's Designs challenge 'Male theme'

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to leave me your lovely comments. I hope you all have a great weekend.

A Quick and Easy Box

First of all I'd like to say a big hello to my new follower and secondly apologise for not leaving any comments when visiting your blogs. I'm finding it a bit awkward trying to use the laptop in bed and I'm still unable to sit. I am managing to shuffle around and stand so I decided to have a go at a bit of crafting yesterday and made an origami box. If you haven't made one of these before you can find a tutorial here (just click the translate button on the page) and they are really so quick and easy to do.
I'm not sure what the paper is as it was free with a magazine and I used white for the box base. Then I just added some bits from my stash to decorate it.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Cards and Scrap challenge 'Use a Workshop to make a creation' (I used workshop 82)
Live annd Love Crafts challenge 'Birthstones' (November - citrine)
The Hobby House challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 3rd entry)
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'Dies, Dies, Dies' (my 2nd entry)
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely comments and well wishes, I really do appreciate them all.

Pearls and Swirls with Elisabeth Bell

It's time for the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey and we are sponsored this fortnight by the fabulous Elisabeth Bell. The theme is 'pearls and swirls' and I've used a very simple design for my card. The Elisabeth Bell image I used is called 'Patti's Kiss' which I coloured with Promarkers and then die-cut with Spellbinders 'opulent ovals'. This was then stuck straight onto a pearlescent base card and all I had to do was add pearls and star embellies from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following chalenges
Sketch Saturday challenge 'Sketch'
Deep Ocean challenge 'For a Girl'
Charisma Cardz challenge 'Digis Only'
The Paper Shelter challenge 'Pink + White or Blue + White'

Only a short post from me today as my back is still bad, but why don't you pop over to the challenge and see what my team mates have made.

Have A Cracking Birthday

Well I'm back ..... sort of. I had a lovely few days in the south west of England at a place called Porlock Weir on the edge of Exmoor. The weather was fabulous as was the scenery and the only problem was a nasty insect bite I got on the first day. Luckily I'd got some antihistamine tablets with me. Got home raring to go and after a day washing and shopping I was ready to get on with some crafting and you know what they say about the best laid plans, so of course something had to go wrong and it did. I've trapped a nerve in my back and this is day number 4 in bed. I can at least walk to the bathroom unaided now but I can't sit for more than a few minutes at a time and bending is definitely out of the question!!!! So I am trying to do a bit of blogging in bed and at least I have a card I made just before my holidays to show you.

It's another of the House Mouse decoupage sheets from the 'Fruit and Nut' collection. Again I've gone for the CAS style as there are so many layers on the image (which don't show up so well on the photo) and the background paper was free with a magazine.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Simon Says challenge 'Masculine or Fathers Day'
Charisma Cardz challenge 'Tons of Layers'
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything Goes'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Hello Boys'
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Spots and/or Stripes'
House Mouse & Friends challenge 'Masculine or Fathers Day'
Lexi's Creations challenge 'Fathers Day or Special Male Birthday'
Ladybug Crafts challenge 'For the Men in Your Life'

Thanks for dropping by and I hope to get round to catch up with you all soon.

Wish I Could Grow Candy !!

On the other hand maybe that wouldn't be such a great idea as I'd probably end up putting on a lot of weight !!
Well I'm back with my second card of the day as promised and for this one I have used one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps which I just had to have when they had a discount over the bank holiay weekend. This little sweetie is called 'Candy Heart' and she is just the cutest little darling and is definitely my favourite rubber stamp. It's one of those stamps that you know will look fabulous in any colour combo, will work for any age and I think the candy 'flowers' are such a great idea. I coloured it with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and added some Stickles to the wings and candy. The background paper is from the Prima Botanicals collection and I used Marianne Creatable LR0200 to die cut the corner. In the other corner I added the little shape from Marianne Creatables LR0180 and I used QuicKutz nesting frame 9 to cut and layer the image. Finally I added lace, ribbon, butterflies and pearls from my stash.

and here's another one that shows the Stickles a bit better

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Sugar Bowl challenge  'Anything Goes with a Sugar Nellie image'
As You Like It challenge 'Favourite Rubber Stamp'
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'Something Sweet' (my 2nd entry'

More Flower Power With Those Little Mice

What a fabulous day here in the East Midlands, the sun is shining and we're off for a few days 'jolly holidays' tomorrow. We only arranged this trip yesterday so I'm trying to get things organised and get a couple of cards blogged.

My first is a card for the House Mouse 'flower / flour power' challenge. I've already made one with the 'flour power' but I decided I just had to make another with the 'flower' theme. This is another decoupage from the House Mouse 'Fruit and Nut' collection and the backing paper is from the House Mouse Inserts cd.. All I added was a hand made flower blossom and a silver peel-off sentiment. Sorry about the picture but I put it in the cellophane before I remembered to take a photo.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
House Mouse and Friends challenge 'Flower Power or Flour Power' (my 2nd entry)
Simon Says challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'Something Sweet'
The Hobby House challenge 'Anything Goes'

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and for all your lovely comments. I'll be back in a while with my other card.
