Another Winter Fairy

Hello to you all, I hope you're having a good start to the week.

Some of you may have seen the card that I posted on Friday using Mo Mannings' Winter Fairy Talva, well my card today is using the Winter Fairy Halla image that I bought at the same time. I used Promarkers and coloured this little darling with the same blues but rather than make another easel card I decided to go for a kraft base card. I've seen so many beautiful cards on your blogs using kraft and blue combo and I thought it was about time I should try it. I also used kraft card to matt the image and all the papers (not sure who they're by as they were in a pile of loose sheets). The die which is behind the image is Memory Box Swirly Tree but with a lot of it hidden it looks just like the fairy breath. Finally I added some tiny punched snowflakes, pearls and a sentiment from my stash. I must admit that I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Mo Manning DP2 challenge 'Krafty'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Sketchie free for all' (I used sketch no 45)
Allsorts challenge 'Kraft It'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Blue + 1 other colour' (I used blue + brown)
Creative Craft challenges2 'Blue + Brown'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'Christmas in July' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for coming to visit and I do hope you can leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

Christmas Sparkle From Those Little Mice

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend. I have another christmas card to show you today this time using another of my Joanna Sheen House Mouse decoupage sheets. This is from the 'Food and Drink 2' collection. I thought this was just perfect for the House Mouse challenge 'add some sparkle' as the cute little mouse is doing just that !! The background paper is from the Kate Knight christmas collection and I matted both the decoupaged image and sentiment onto silver mirri card. I added a bit of extra sparkle to the cake glitter with Stickles (quite a bit actually but it doesn't show up very well in the photo) and then added some gems to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'Add Some Sparkle'
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'Christmas in July'
Digi Sketch challenge 'Layer It Up' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Winter Fairy

I'm running a bit late today so straight on with my card. I've finally used a fabulous digi I've had for a while now called 'Winter Fairy Talva' from Mo Manning. I've seen her coloured beautifully by so many talented crafters and was a bit nervous about putting Promarker to card. I decided to keep to blues just to make things easier and make an easel card firstly because it tends to take your eyes away from any poor colouring and secondly because I love the shape of these QuicKutz nesting dies.
The background paper is from Marianne Designs and the dies are Marianne Creatables LR0185 snowflake, LR0111 flower, LR0154 tag (hidden behind the image) and Memory Box 'Elegant Scrollwork'. The ribbon, gems, pearls, bells, snowflake and silver peel-offs are all from my stash. I added Stickles to the snowball but it doesn't show up to well in the photo.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Sweet Stampin' challenge 'Christmas in July'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'Christmas in July'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Easel Does It'

Papertake Weekly challenge 'Die-ing For A Punch' (my 3rd entry)

We've had another lovely sunny day here in the East Midlands and so my card today seems to match the weather perfectly.

I've used a Wild Rose Studio stamp called 'In the Meadow' which I coloured with Promarkers and used chalks for the sky. The background paper is Dovecraft 'Back to Basics' and the embossed card was done with a folder which was a magazine freebie. To finish I added pearls, flowers, ribbon and sentiment which are all from my stash.

Navy Days

Well the summer sunshine has disappeared and we had a few good storms last night. I think my Dad must have been doing his rain dance again - he certainly is very pleased that his water butts are full again so he can water up in his greenhouse.

I've a card to show you today that I was asked to make for someone passing out with the Royal Navy. I had to rack my brains for a bit of inspiration and this is what I came up with. I decided to keep to a blue and white colour combo and the background paper was free with a magazine. I used Memory Box 'Big Splash Border' die for the sea and made a lifebelt from card, ribbon and bakers twine which I then attached with sticky pads to give it a bit of dimension. The sentiments were made on the computer.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'By the sea'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'Celebrate'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Colour - blue & white'
Deep Ocean challenge 'Blue'

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great evening.

Pink and Girly LOTV

Hi to you all and thanks for popping by again. Hope all of those of you in the UK have been enjoying this glorious weather. The sun's taking a bit of a rest today so it's not quite as hot which will please my Dad. We picked him up to take him shopping the other day and he came out of his front door wearing his jacket and cap and as he got in the car his words were 'I can't stand this heat' -  this was when the temperature was 27 deg c and I was wearing the thinnest skirt and top I could find. Still he's 93 in December so I think it's a bit too late to get him to change his ways !!

Anyway, enough of my waffling on as I've got another card to show you. This was influenced by the hot weather as I wanted to make a card for the LOTV monthly challenge but couldn't be bothered to sit and colour anything so I headed off to my stack of toppers (no longer available but I think this image is included in one of the new art pads). I wanted a nice cool and fresh feel to it so I embossed a card blank with an embossing folder which was free with a magazine and matted the image onto some pink spotty card. All I had to do then was add some ribbon, flowers, card candi and a sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Lili of the Valley monthly challenge 'Pretty in Pink'
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Pink and White' (my 2nd entry)
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'Just For Girls' (my 2nd entry)

Papertake Weekly challenge 'Buttons &/or Bows'
That Craft Place challenge 'Ribbon &/or Lace'

Santa at Christmas Cards All Year Round

Hello to you all and especially to my new follower. Thanks for taking the time to drop by and I hope all of you in England are enjoying the hot weather. I think my laptop got a touch of heatstroke over the weekend and my super hubby has had to fix it for me, so hopefully it's now up and running properly.

A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would like to be a guest DT over at Christmas Cards All Year Round and of course I was honoured to accept. The theme for this month is 'It's All About Santa' so I decided to use my Joanna Sheen 'Giordano Christmas Creations' cd. It has so many beautiful images and I chose this wonderful Santa decoupage. I made it into an easel card using QuicKutz nesting dies and the gold stars are the leftover bits from a Marianne Designs angel die. The oval was embossed with Spellbinder Impressabilities Snowflake and I added a gold peel-off sentiment and a small topper from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'Die-ing for it' (my 2nd entry)
Charisma Cardz challenge 'No designer papers' (my 2nd entry)

Cards & Scrap challenge 'Anything goes'
Challenges 4 Everybody challenge 'Anything goes'
The CD Sunday challenge 'Christmas in July'

There's still a couple of weeks to join in the challenge so why not pop over to CCAYR to take part and see the fabulous inspiration from the DT.

I shall be round to catch up with you all over the next few days.

Pink and Girly Sugar

Don't faint... I have a second card to show you today.
A couple of weeks ago I received a Sugar Nellie Diane Duda stamp called 'Believe' from the lovely Mina at Pinkpuds  (Thank you Mina) which I've coloured with Promarkers. I'm not quite sure how this card happened as I intended to do something CAS!!
The background paper is Pink Petticoat 'Wild Blossoms' collection and the dies I've used are all Marianne - LR0111, LR0145, LR0143, LR0152 & CR1216. I added some tiny punched butterflies and ribbon, lace & pearls from my stash. Finally I added some Liquid Pearls to the centre of the flowers and a couple of bows.

Merry KrisMouse at Paper Crafting Journey

Oops I forgot to post this yesterday as I went out for the first time in 5 weeks. The new Hobbycraft store opened in Derby and so bad back or not hubby drove me up so I could have a look around. Must admit I wasn't impressed but there is an M&S foodstore nearby so we had to stock up on a few goodies (chocolate profiteroles, raspberry panacotta etc) - well they were part of the £10 meal deal !!

Anyway on to my card for the Paper Crafting Journey challenge which started yesterday. This fortnight the theme is 'Christmas in July' and we are sponsored by the brilliant Rick St Dennis who is offering 2 lucky winners a prize of 3 images each. The DT were very lucky to be able to choose an image to work with and I just couldn't resist this one called 'Eek a mouse'  because it has the traditional santa, snowman, etc but with a bit of fun. I printed the well-known 'twas the night before christmas' verse on the computer and coloured the image with Promarkers and a few touches of Sakura pen and Stickles. Finally I edged the card with a gold calligrapher pen and then fixed it onto a base card.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Stamp and Create challenge 'Christmas in July'
ABC Christmas challenge 'N is for No Embellishments'
As You Like It challenge 'Favourite Special Occasion and Why' (christmas - because it's the time for family)

Thanks for dropping by and why not pop over to PCJ and join in the fun - it's never to early to make a start on those christmas cards.

A Starry Christmas Cherub

Good afternoon to all you lovely people who've taken the time to pop by. Sorry I've not been around much lately but I'm still having problems with my back and not spending as much time blogging as I'd like.
I have managed to do some crafting though and I've an easel card to show you today. The image is from Mo Manning called 'Gabe' which I coloured with Promarkers and decoupaged the little cherub, then I layered it onto a circle of silver mirricard. I used Marianne Designs Creatables LR0180 die to make the easel card and finished it off with pearls, silver peel-offs and a then made a double bow.

Summertime with IndigoBlu

Last month I was lucky enough to be one of the winners over at the ALBC challenge and my prize was a voucher from Clare Curd Crafts. I decided that I should use it to get something I wouldn't normally buy and so my first IndigoBlu stamp dropped through the letterbox at the weekend.
It's called 'Blazing Poppies' and rather than go for the traditional red I was inspired by the mass of orange and yellow Welsh poppies we have in our garden. I coloured it with Promarkers and brushed the background with blue chalks. I layered it onto some yellow card and then onto a base card and added some tiny punched butterflies and some pearls. I made a double bow using the gorgous green ribbon which I got from the lovely Mina (along with some more ribbon and a super stamp which I shall be inking up tomorrow).
I'm pleased with the result and so glad I decided to try something different. I'd love to know what you think of it.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
IndigoBlu challenge 'Summer Time'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'Summer Blooms'
Ladybug Crafts challenge 'Favourite Embellishments' (ribbon and pearls)
