Check This Box

Good morning to you all and I hope you survived the awful weather we had at the weekend. I'm full of the dreaded bugs so only a quick post from me today then I'm back off to snuggle up in a blanket.

I've never made an exploding box before so that was my little project at the weekend and again I went for a christmas theme. The papers are some of last years Raspberry Road Designs 'Christmas collection' and the sentiment is one of the LOTV christmas grungy messages. I used Memory Box Lindeman Snowflake die with some pearls from my stash and the poinsettia is Tattered Lace Christmas Florals with the foliage die from Memory Box Fabulous Phlox. The foliage was cut from silver mirricard and I experimented by using some glossy photo card for the flower which I coloured with Promarkers and fastened with a tiny brad. I couldn't decide what to do in the centre but after a rummage I found this old cake decoration of a skating Santa which I thought worked quite well and I used the centre die of Marianne Creatables LR0180 for his 'skating rink'. Finally I added a snowflake charm from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Check this out'
Polkadoodles challenge 'Anything but a card'
Oldie But A Goodie challenge 'Charming' (papers and santa are over 6 months old)
Craftyhands challenge 'Anything goes'

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you'll drop by again.

Anything Goes at the Paper Crafting Journey Challenge

It's Thursday and so we have a new challenge starting over at the PCJ challenge. This fortnight the theme is everyone's favourite of 'Anything Goes' so no excuses for not joining in with your paper craft creations. Just remember the rules though - maximum of 3 entries and no back linking - and you could be in with a chance to win the prize from our sponsor Digital Delights.

I'm still on the christmas card production line and I've used another of the fabulous House Mouse decoupage sheets from the 'Wishes For Christmas' collection. I wanted to keep it quite CAS but also bling it up a bit so I followed the theme of the image and added some tiny christmas bells/baubles which I 'strung up' with twine. The background paper is from the Kate Knight christmas collection which I've had since before last christmas and the sentiment is from another decoupage sheet.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
House Mouse & Friends challenge 'Anything goes with twine'
ABC Christmas challenge 'U.. for under the tree'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'Anything Goes + optional sketch'
Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge 'Getting ready for christmas' (my 3rd entry)
Polkadoodles challenge 'Christmas is coming' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I do hope you can come and join us on the challenge blog.

Shape It Up

Hello to you all on this wet and chilly Monday, hope you're having a good start to the week.

Over the weekend I finally got round to inking up this Wild Rose Studio stamp called 'Hanging Gifts' which I coloured with Promarkers. Then I made a shaped card base with a top fold using the largest of the QuicKutz Nesting Frame 9 dies. I used smaller of the same frames to die-cut the image and also WRS 'Annabelle's Christmas' background paper and white card, which I layered up. The sentiment is one of the LOTV 'Christmas Grungy Messages' stamps and finally I used ribbon from my stash to make the bow.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Magnolia-licious challenge 'Shaped cards'
CRAFT challenge 'Christmas'
Allsorts challenge 'Ribbon and bows'
Polkadoodles challenge 'Christmas is coming'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'All creatures great and small' (my 2nd entry)
Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge 'Getting ready for christmas' (my 2nd entry)
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Ribbon' (my 2nd entry)
Fashionable Stamping challenge ' Make a card'
CHNC challenge extra 'Christmas anything goes'

Help Please

Good evening to you all and I hope you've had a good weekend.

I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction. My dad has asked me to make a christmas card for my cousin (female) and they have this long standing thing about trying to find the funniest card about WIND (and yes I mean the human type). So if anyone knows of any very humorous and preferably digi stamps I would be very grateful if you could leave me a comment. Thanks for your help.

Another card with my IndigoBlu Poppies

Good afternoon to you all. With this chill in the air it's a perfect excuse to stay inside with the heating on and do a bit of crafting, don't you think?

I decided to have a go at another way of using my IndigoBlu 'Blazing Poppies' stamp and after a bit of playing around with different ink colours I went for the black ink on some coloured card. I chopped the image down and placed it onto an ivory linen base. Then I added some die-cut Cheery Lynn butterfies and a silver peel-off 'sentiment' on a card circle. A very CAS design and another card ready for when my aunt does her charity fundraising. The coloured card has more of an orangey tinge IRL.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
IndigoBlu challenge 'Things with wings'
Cards Galore challenge 'Flowers' (my 2nd entry)
Creative Craft challenge 2 'Anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything goes' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you all have a super weekend.

Sweet Birthday Treats

Hello all. I'm here with just a quick post today as I'm still trying to get this laptop working properly.

I've used another of the Joanna Sheen House Mouse decoupage sheets from the 'Fruit and Nut' collection. This has to be one of my favourite images showing those little meeces being quite naughty and trying to blame it on the poor kitty. The sentiment is from the same sheet and the background paper is from the House Mouse Insert cd. I kept it CAS and just added a bit of ribbon from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Joanna Sheen challenge 'So sweet'
The ABC challenge 'X for Xtra special'
Creative Craft challenges2 'Anything goes'
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything goes'
The Crafty Bloggers Network challenge 'Anything goes' (my 3rd entry)

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave, it is very much appreciated.

Angelic Tag

Good afternoon and thanks for dropping by. Also I'd like to apologise for not having returned your visits yet but I'm still having computer problems and I seem to have spent nearly the whole weekend trying to get Photoshop Elements working properly. It's an old version (Elements 2) which has been fine all these years - even with Windows 7 - but the fonts have suddenly started going totally weird. I loaded it on hubby's pc and it works fine so the problem must be with my laptop.... Grrr.

Anyway I took a bit of time out to make a christmas gift tag to join in with a few challenges. The image is LOTV 'Angelic Lute' which I coloured with Promarkers and cut out with a Spellbinders 'Opulent Ovals' die. The background is embossed with a Die'sire 'Seasonal Music' folder and the die is Memory Box 'Elegant Scrollwork'. The ribbon, gems, star and roses are all from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Lili Of The Valley Monthly challenge 'Anything Goes w/a LOTV image' (my 2nd entry)
Penny Black and More challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 3rd entry)
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Anything Goes with LOTV'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Wrap It Up'
The Hobby House challenge 'Roses'
A Creative Romance challenge 'Pink'
That Craft Place challenge 'Think Pink'
Crafty Little Fairies challenge 'Pretty In Pink'
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'Wings and Things'
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Ribbon'

Hope you're all having a good start to your week and I'll be round soon to catch up with you.

Christmas for a Man

Hi to you all and I hope you're having a good weekend. I think I may be pulling my hair out by this time tomorrow if I can't get this stupid laptop working properly. My photoshop program started doing weird and silly things yesterday so after trying unsuccessfully to reinstall the software I wiped the hard drive clean. Now I've got to put all my programs back on and maybe replace some really outdated ones.

Anyways I decided to have a bit of a break from computers and made this card using my new IndigoBlu stamp called 'Frosted baubles'. I used Memento Brilliance pearlescent ivy to ink it up and kept the design very CAS. The die is Memory Box 'Big Splash Border' and the ribbon is from my stash. To finish it off I added a gold peel-off sentiment stuck onto an oval which I attached with sticky pads to add a bit of depth. You'll have to excuse the photo quality but it's been so dark here all day.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Christmas At Sweet Stampin' challenge 'Cards for the men'
Through The Purple Haze challenge 'Indigo Blu and you know who'
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge 'Make It Square'
Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge 'Getting ready for christmas' (the christmas decorations)

The Crafty Bloggers challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)
Stampin' For The Weekend challenge 'Anything Goes'
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'Use a rubber or clear stamp' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I hope to get back to you soon, after I teach this laptop how to behave !!

Good morning to you all and what a lovely sunny (but a bit chilly) day it is too. Today we have a new challenge starting over at Paper Crafting Journey with a very seasonal theme of  'use Halloween colours' and we are sponsored by Just Some Lines who are offering the lucky winner 4 digi images of their choice.

For my card I used two of their witch images which I coloured with Promarkers and attached with sticky pads to give it some depth. The fabulous background paper is a freebie from Donna at Bearly Mine Designs (a very big thanks Donna) and all I added was a Memory Box 'Swirly Tree' die.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Just Some Lines challenge 'Happy boo to you'

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Good morning to you all, hope you're keeping well and happy. I'm back on the christmas theme today but instead of a square card I've tried something different and made a star using a shabby / distressed style.

I cut 2 QuicKutz nesting frame dies in white card and the smaller size in some patterened paper from my odds & sods box (so no idea who by but would have been a magazine freebie) which I then matted and stuck together to form the star shape. The edges were distressed with some Tippex (I had nothing else snowy!!) and some Stickles. The image is a LOTV stamp called 'Santa' which I coloured with Promarkers, added more Stickles on the fur trims and snow and cut out with the same QuicKutz nesting dies. Then I added some die-cuts which I will list under the photo and some ribbon from my stash. This is so sparkly when the light catches the mirri-card and Stickles but unfortunately the photo doesn't show it.

The dies I used ~
QuicKutz Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frames 8
Tattered Lace Christmas Florals (poinsettia and holly)
Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork
Memory Box Swirly Tree
Memory Box Fabulous Phlox (just the leafy sprig)
Marianne Creatable LR0137 (bird)
Marianne Creatables LR0138 (tree)

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Christmas At Sweet Stampin challenge 'Here comes Santa'
Lili Of The Valley challenge 'Anything goes'

A Very Sweet Sugar Nellie

Good morning to you all and I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Today I want to start by saying a massive 'Thankyou' to all of you fabulous crafters out there who give me so much inspiration as it's only down to you that I've made this card. Let me explain.... at one time I would have been very nervous about putting spots and stripes together and as for daring to colour an animal, well no chance there. When I had finished this card I realised just how much I have learnt and how much you wonderful bloggers have helped and inspired me and also those of you who host challenges have dared me to try new things.

So here is the card I made using an adorable Sugar Nellie stamp called 'Sweet Success'. Now if you read their web page I think they have the description wrong as I'm pretty sure it should read 'and girls', don't you? Now this is the first time I have coloured a hedgie, which I did with Promarkers and added Sakura glaze pen on the fruit. I used QuicKutz Nesting Frame 8 to cut out and layer the image and the papers are Dovecraft 'Back to Basics III'. The flowers are from my stash with a Memory Box 'Chloe Stem' die tucked behind them and some card candi on the flower centres. The ribbon and brad are also from my stash and the sentiment was free with a magazine some time ago.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Sugar Bowl challenge 'Anything Sugar Nellie Goes'
Sketchy Colors challenge 'Sketch'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Lots of Legs'
Crafty Little Fairies challenge 'Bows N Brads'
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'We're Going Dotty'
Moving Along With The Times challenge 'Anything Goes'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Anything Goes' (my 2nd entry)
Cards Galore challenge 'Flowers'
Live & Love Crafts challenge 'Pink'
Hanna and Friends challenge 'Best Friends'

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you can take the time to leave me a coment as I love reading them all.

Coffee & Cream Mouse Style

Hello and thanks for popping by to see what I've been up to today. I've had this decoupage made up for some time and could never decide what to do with it but then I saw the current Joanna Sheen challenge theme was 'coffee and cream' and hey presto it all fell into place. I think sometimes we just need a nudge in the right direction.
The decoupage sheet is from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse 'Food and Drink 2' collection and the papers are My Mind's Eye 'Lost & Found two' and Prima 'Doodle Deux collection'. I used a kraft card base and added a computer made sentiment and some card candi to finish.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Coffee and Cream'
House Mouse challenge 'Monochrome'
Crafty Catz challenge 'Happy Birthday'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Anything Goes'
