Make It Manly at Paper Crafting Journey

Hi everyone, it's a glorious sunny day here and time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey. The theme for this fortnight is Make It Manly and we are sponsored by Kenny K who have some amazing images for men.

For my card I've kept to a CAS design and used Kenny K 'Teen Idol' which I coloured with Promarkers. The paper is from Bearly Mine Designs with the edges distressed slightly. I used an Xcut die to cut the stars from snippets of card and added a peel-off sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge 'Anything goes + twist Distressed edges'
The Crafty Bloggers Network challenge 'All about boys'
CAS On Sunday challenge 'Masculine card'
Lexi's Creations challenge 'Monochromatic' (my 2nd entry)
Creative Inspirations challenge 'It's a boy thing'
Delightful challenge 'Keep it simple'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'Use die cuts no punches'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Make it digital'
Pixies Snippets Playground challenge 'Week 113 use snippets'

Oh and as an afterthought - if any of you are interested Lothian Crafts are having a closing down sale and have Cheery Lynn, Marianne, JoyCrafts ans Sizzix dies at reduced prices. There aren't so many left but you maybe lucky as I was and get a couple that I've had on my wishlist for some time at a bargain price.

A Bit of Sparkle with Penny Black

I told you I'd had a good crafty day and this is another card I've made especially for a couple of challenges. I've been a very lucky girl just lately and I won a Penny Black 'Hello Friend' stamp set last month at the Penny Black and more challenge. (A very big thanks to you and your sponsor) So for this card I've used the little mouse from the set and coloured it with Promarkers. The paper is from a My Minds Eye pad called 'Lost and Found' and the gems and sentiments are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Penny Black and More challenge 'Make it sparkle'
Penny Black Saturday challenge 'For someone special'
Divas By Design challenge 'Rubber stamps only' (my 2nd entry) not sure if this one counts as it is a cling stamp

Thanks for popping by and for the lovely comments you leave - they really are appreciated.

Merry Christmas cards

Evening all. hope you are well.

I'm making up for lost time and have had quite a productive day craft-wise. I've finally used a pack of christmas toppers I've had for about 18 months and also some of my loose papers. I used my Memory Box 'grand merry christmas' die and set up a production line to make 6 cards. That MB die really is one of my best buys and I can see it being used on a lot more 'production lines' this year.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Rudolph Day challenge 'Make 2 christmas cards'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'Use a sentiment'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'The most wonderful time of the year' (my 2nd entry)
ABC christmas challenge 'D for die cuts'

LOTV Champion Ted

Hi everyone and thank you all for your kind comments. I'm feeling much better today and the sun is even shining too.

The Lili of the Valley Inspiration blog has started doing daily candy giveaways - how generous is that - and I was the very lucky winner of one of their stamps which landed through my letterbox yesterday. The stamp I won is called Champion Ted and this is the card I made with it.

I embossed the edge of the card with a Die'sire petite dots folder and the paper is Raspberry Road Designs. The star is an Xcut die with a peel-off sentiment and the ribbon is from my stash.

Thank you again all at LOTV for your generosity - you certainly are Champions.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Lili of the Valley Monthly challenge 'Name that tune' 'We are the champions' by Queen (my 5th and final entry)
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'Man up' (my 2nd entry)

Crafty Little Fairies challenge 'One for the boys'
Divas By Design challenge 'Rubber stamps only'
Through the Purple Haze challenge 'Embossing'
Crafty Sentiments Designs 'Anything goes'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend

Dem Dry Bones

Sorry I've been MIA this week but those flu germs really got the better of me and on top of that I've had problems with my back again and so been unable to spend more than a few minutes at a time sitting over the computer. I'm beginning to move a bit better now so fingers crossed will be able to get round to visit you over the weekend.

Anyways I actually made a christmas card today and methinks I shall be mass producing this design. I had a digi insert from Cuddly Buddly printed off and lying in a box so when I was looking for some red designer paper it was crying to be used up. I know it isn't a christmassy one but I think it works perfectly with this LOTV topper. The sentiment is one I recycled from an old card and the gingham ribbon I used for the bow is from my stash. The great thing about this is that it looks 'layered' but is flat so will be perfect for posting.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Lili of the Valley Monthly challenge 'Name that tune' (my 4th entry as it's such a great theme)
the first song title that came to mind was 'Given the dog a bone' by AC/DC as they were the only words I knew of the song but on checking the lyrics I decided it best to stick to a more child friendly tune that also came to mind called 'Dem Dry Bones'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'Christmas love'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Colour challenge - Red'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'The most wonderful time of the year'
Lexi's Creations challenge 'Monochromatic'

Under the moon of love

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. I've been trying to fight off a lousy cold/flu bug for the past few days but it seems to be getting the better of me so I'm having a bit of a rest (or rather my voice is !!)

Lili of the Valley had a sale of some of their older stamps the other week so of course I had to treat myself. This one is called 'Under the moonlight' which I coloured with Promarkers and added just a touch of Stickles to the stars and moon. The papers are Prima 'fairy belle collection' and My Mind's Eye 'lost and found two'. I cut the sentiment with a Xcut heart die and the ribbons and pearls are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Romantic + LOTV'

The Sketchy challenge 'Make your own sketch / anything goes'
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'be my valentine'
Sister Act card challenge 'Anything goes'
Wags 'n Whiskers challenge 'Bingo' ( I used pearls / heart / ribbon)

Right I'm off now to cuddle up on the settee with a nice cuppa tea and watch a film. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Love is in the air

What a gorgous day here in the East Midlands - the sun is shining and no rain expected until tomorrow - such a change from yesterday.

It's time for the new challenge over at the Paper Crafting Journey with quite a topical theme of Love is in the air We are sponsored this fortnight by The Paper Shelter who are offering the lucky winner a $20 gift certificate to their store.

I used this gorgous image from The Paper Shelter called 'Enchanted Love' which I coloured with Promarkers. I'm not sure of the papers as they were in my box of loose sheets. The dies are Marianne Creatables LR0157 and Xcut Heart and the flowers, gems and silver peel-off are from my stash.

Love Me, Love My Cat

Good afternoon everyone. If I disappear part way though this post it's because the rain and gales have whisked me off to visit the 'Land of Oz' !  At least we're not flooded here like a lot of people in England so I do count myself very lucky.

Since christmas I've been having a bit of a love / hate relationship with card making and this card is one of my 'likes'. I seem to be favouring small CAS styles using up scraps of paper and other bits from my stash. The stamp is a Sugar Nellie by Diana Duda called 'Believe' which I coloured with Promarkers and a touch of Sakura glitter pen. I used papers from My Minds Eye and the little hearts are the cut out bits from a Marianne Design LR0185 snowflake with the letters written with a gel pen. The flower is a chipboard that was a magazine freebie with a card candi centre added.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Sugar Bowl challenge 'colour combo'
Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge 'Hearts / love'
Card Mania challenge 'Love is all around'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'KISS keep it simple & sweet'
Crafty Little Fairies challenge ' Love'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'Lots of love'
Divas By Design challenge 'With love'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'With a heart'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'Have a heart'
Pixies Snippets Playground challenge 'week 111 use snippets'

That's it from me for today but I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for the PCJ challenge. Hope you can pop back then and in the meantime keep safe wherever you are.

CAS Wee Topper

Well so much for my weekend plans of catching up with long overdue jobs - I guess they'll just have to stay overdue a bit longer. I did get around to making a very quick CAS card though and it really was quick.

From the Hobby House I used a Sylvia Zet Wee card topper, die-cut mat, paper and pearls. The small die-cut flowers are from the Marianne Creatable LR0154 tag set and I finished by adding a gold peel-off sentiment. Told you it was quick didn't I ?

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Hobby House challenge 'Anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'Spots & stripes'
Winter Wonderland challenge No stamping allowed'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'Anything goes' (my 3rd entry)

A short post from me today as I keep having to retype all the mistakes I'm making - thats what happens when singing along to the 60s and 70s oldies on the radio and tapping the keys in time with the music !!

Paint It Black..... or maybe brown !!

Hi everyone and a big welcome to my latest follower Donna. I hope you're all looking forward to the weekend and have some fun things planned. Mine will be mainly housework and catching up with some long overdue jobs but hopefully I can sneak in a bit of playtime too.

I used to hate making male cards but now I'm getting more confident and rather like it, especially with the fabulous LOTV images. This one is a stamp called 'Lick of Paint' but I used it from the sketch pad 'Vintage Boys' and coloured it with Promarkers. The papers are Prima Botanical collection, the stars are an Xcut die and from my stash I used bakers twine and a peel-off sentiment.

Love Me Do

Good evening to you all and thanks for popping by.

Well my inspiration still keeps playing hide and seek but I have managed to put together a wedding heart, and as it's my first attempt I was quite pleased with the result.

I used Xcut nesting dies to cut out the heart shapes which I sandwiched together with a frilly lace edging and the image is a LOTV topper. The white roses are from the Hobby House, the pink flowers from Hobbycraft and tucked behind are Memory Box 'elegant scrollwork' and 'chloe stem' dies with a couple of little flower dies from Marianne Creatables LR0154 tag set. I added Stickles to the image and flowers and it looks super when the light catches it - unfortunately the sun had disappeared by the time I came to take the photos.

On the reverse I added a pink ribbon bow with a pearl brad. The smaller heart that you see hasn't been fixed yet so that I can add the wedding details or other sentiment at a later date.

So here it is - a bit photo heavy I'm afraid
