House Mouse anything goes Christmas Calendar

Good morning to you all. First of all please forgive any mistakes in this post as the flu germs I've been strugling with have finally taken over and my brain and body are on totally different planets today!!

This is my last spot as GDT over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge and this fortnight the theme is 'anything goes'. Last year I intended making a christmas calendar but time flies by and I never got round to it so that's what I decided to make for my anything goes.

I went for a side stepper design and used a decoupage sheet from the House Mouse 'wishes for christmas' collection but I only decoupaged the baubles. The green card is embossed with a Die'sire 'petite dots' folder and the numbers were made by cuttong out the circles with an Xcut die, hole punching and adding gold and silver peel-offs. The christmas letters were cut from snippets of card with Memory Box 'grand merry christmas' die and the 'merry' is hand written on to card candi.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'lets get sentimental'
All Crafts challenge 'anything goes but no cards'

I'd like to say a big thank you to all the DT at the House Mouse & Friends challenge for having me join them for the last two months and I do hope you will pop over to check out the challenge and see their wonderful mousey (and friends) creations.

Flower Power and final challenge at the Paper Crafting Journey

Evening all. hope you're having a good weekend.

I am a little late this week posting my DT card for the Paper Crafting Journey challenge because, as you may have gathered from the post title, this will be our last challenge.

Our fabulous DT leader Wendy has decided to close the challenge due to her new commitments outside of crafting and lack of time. She has been a super leader organising the challenges and getting such wonderful sponsors and it was so lovely being part of her team (Thank you Wendy)

Anyways onto this last challenge - the theme is 'flower power' and the sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs who are offering the winner 3 digi images of their choice and they have some really fabulous images to pick from.

For my card I used this adorable image called 'Henry Mushroom Bear' which I coloured with Promarkers and chalked the sky. I embossed the pearlescent card base with a flowery Die'sire Embossalicious folder and just added a tiny flower from my stash to the flower on the image. A very CAS card but I thought the style suited the image.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Stampin' For The Weekend challenge 'anything goes'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'embossing'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'clean and simple' (2nd entry)
Crafty Sentiments Designs challenge 'summer or summer colours'

Thanks for popping by and I do hope you can come and join us in our final challenge.

Rudolph choir and buildings

Good morning to you all and thanks for popping by. It looks like Blogger may have actually fixed the bug affecting the reading posts as I can see you all again today.

As some of you may know I have a large pile of the old LOTV toppers to be used up and so I made a couple of very quick cards. So simple that no detailing is needed apart from I used scraps of card, a gold peel-off sentiment and a LOTV grunge sentiment.

So this is my entry for the Rudolph Day challenge where you have to make 2 christmas items

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Winter Wonderland challenge 'a christmas choir'
Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets' (the piece of green card and the little piece with the sentiment)

and I shall enter this is in these challenges
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge 'include a building'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'circles'

Thanks for popping by and I should be around to visit you soon now that I can see you again.

Make A Wish

..... and my wish was to get myself motivated to play with some of my unused crafty goodies (and if by chance you are as guilty as me of having unused schtuff in your posession - then you have until 27th June to join Darnell and support her NBUS challenge)

So here is a card made using some uninked Clearly Besotted stamps - the lily of the valley is from the 'fresh flowers' set cut with the matching die and the sentiment is from the 'dandelion dreams' set. I stamped the sentiment straight onto the base card with Memento 'rich cocoa' ink, cut a circle from the My Mind's Eye 'lost and found' paper which I attached with sticky pads and then I added the CB flower. There's not one single embellishment in sight, although I may just be tempted to add a small pearl or two - what do you think?

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Clearly Besotted challenge 'anything goes'
Darnell's NBUS challenge 'anything goes with friendship' (2nd entry)
CAS on Sunday challenge 'birthday'
Without Words challenge 'birthday for girls' (2nd entry)
Creative Inspirations challenge 'clean and simple'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you'll call back tomorrow when I'll have my DT card foe the PCJ challenge to show you.

Lavinia Fairy

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend. It's gorgous hot sunny weather here so fingers crossed it stays like this.

I've been having a play today with some of my NBUS (never before used schtuff) so that I can join in with Darnell's challenge and also try out some Lavinia stamps which were a magazine freebie.

These are the first Lavinia stamps I've used and the first card I've made using a silhouette stamp so it was a bit of 'stamp and see what happens' - although I didn't expect it to look anything like it does!! First off I used pink ink to stamp but it was too pale so I got the red ink and overstamped just the fairy. I actually got a bit of a shadow with the pink as I didn't manage to line the stamp up properly, but luckily it does look like shadow. I used a pearlescent card base, the paper is Prima 'doodle deux' and the pearls, gems and sentiment are from my stash.

Okay so you've probably never seen a red fairy before but maybe she just spent a little too long sunbathing!! Another style I shall definitely have to master and I think her next outing will be in black.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
NBUS challenge 'anything goes with a friendship theme'
Lavinia Stamps challenge 'add some beads or gems'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'fairy day'
Dream Valley challenge 'monochrome'
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'ink it up' (3rd entry)

Thanks for your visit - I really do appreciate it. I have been visiting you the past few days but Mr Blogger is being a bit of a nuisance sometimes when I try to leave comments and telling me it's a 'whoops error'

Christmas Robins

I'm back today with another christmas card and this design meant a daring trip into the land of one layer cards. I love one layer cards but I think they are much harder to make as you can't 'hide' your little mistakes and you have to think more about the finished look before you start stamping - which is not so easy for me as I usually just let my cards happen.

I stamped straight onto a linen base card using Little Claire Designs 'robin redbreast' and a Penny Black sentiment from the 'in a pear tree' transparent set using black Memento ink. I have stamped this image once before but it ended up in the bin as I couldn't get the watering can coloured properly so this time I decided just to colour the robins and plants with my Promarkers. I also went over the snowflakes (which had inked up very black) and centre of the flowers with Sakura glitter pen but it doesn't show up on the photo.

So here is the finished card. Hubby said it's not too bad but I know I need a lot more practice at 'one layer'

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Winter Wonderland challenge 'a christmas scene'
That's Crafty challenge 'birds' (2nd entry)
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'ink it up' (2nd entry)
Crafty Sentiments challenge 'CAS or full on'
Card und More challenge 'one layer'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'anything goes'
Crafts and Me challenge 'add wings'

Thanks for popping by and I really would value your honest opinion and tips for this type of card.

House Mouse Die-cuts and / or Punches

Morning everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. We took my Dad to a nursery (garden type) yesterday afternoon and of course we came home with a car boot full of plants - and all of them for Dad. His next crafty project will be with wood making some planters to put them in!!

But onto my card for today which is for my GDT spot over at House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge hosted this fortnight by Sue Kment. The theme is 'use die-cuts and/or punches' but don't worry if you haven't got any dies or punches as you can always join in with the alternative theme of 'anything goes' and there are some fabulous prizesto be won.

I was very lucky to be one of the HM April winners and my prize from that challenge hostess Kelly Smith was the adorable House Mouse stamp that I've used for my card today. It's called 'nap time' and I coloured it with Promarkers. I used a Die'sire Embossalicious folder 'petite dots' to emboss the background and Spellbinders 'opulent ovals to cut and layer the image. The flowers are made using Cheery Lynn 'large rose', Dovecraft 'daisy' punch and gems from my stash and the lovely pink ribbon was also from Kelly. Finally the sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'Child's play' (2nd entry)
Whimsy Stamps challenge 'Tic-tac-toe' (ribbon / flowers / sentiment)
Stamping Sensations challenge 'Animal antics'

Gruffies & Guests challenge 'Anything goes + option patchwork'
CAS(E) this Sketch challenge 'sketch'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'Use snippets' (used for flowers and sentiment)

Thanks for popping by and I do hope you can join in the challenge with your House Mouse, Gruffies or Happy Hoppers.

Fathers Day

I left it a bit late making my Dad's card for fathers day but after a bit of a rush last night I have got it made ready to give him tomorrow.

I got my inspiration for this card from Pauline aka Cotnob who makes the most wonderful male cards and as Dad is a keen gardener who always has a garden full of visiting birds I thought this image from the LOTV art pad 'garden delights' was most appropriate. If anyone has not already seen any this art pad I can really recommend it - such beautiful images and fabulous colours. The paper is the last of this design from my box of loose sheets and although I don't remember who by I think 'Miss Marple' may be able to help if she reads this. I didn't want a straight strip of kraft to layer the image so I used strips cut from a curvy edged kraft base card (note to myself -  must buy a border punch or some scissors that will do the job). I searched through all my stamps for a DAD sentiment but to no avail so ended up hand writing in a gold gel pen and the other sentiment is on a clear sheet that I stuck onto a scrap of kraft card.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Papertake Weekly challenge 'for the boys'
That Craft Place challenge 'men'
That's Crafty challenge 'birds'
Bearly Mine challenge 'one for the boys' (2nd entry)
Lily of the Valley Monthly challenge 'male or sporty' (2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a great weekend whatever you're up to.

Water Lily Fairy

Hi everyone, I'm here with a card I made this morning using one of the new LOTV fairies. This is the water lily fairy which I coloured with Promarkers and used a Sakura glaze pen on the sunglasses. The paper is Wild Rose Studio 'butterfly garden' and the gorgous 'cotton candy pink' Divine Bakers Twine is from The Ribbon Girl (part of my recent win - a huge thank you to Mary and Andrea xx). Finally I added a button and sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Lovely Lili + girlie'
Without Words challenge 'Femme fatale - birthday card for girl'
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'Things with wings'
A Creative Romance challenge 'Anything goes + option happy birthday' (2nd entry)

Anything goes at the Paper Crafting Journey

Afternoon all, hope you're enjoying this fabulous weather (those of you in the UK). We have a new challenge starting over at the Paper Crafting Journey and this fortnight it's everyone's favourite theme of anything goes - so no excuse not to join in. You could be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize from our sponsor Kenny K Downloads.

For my card I decided on a christmas theme and used this super Kenny K image of a sleigh full of goodies which I coloured with Promarkers. Even hubby commented on how nice this image was so that is praise for Kenny K!! The papers are from my box of loose sheet leftovers and would have been a free gift with a magazine (so I'm sure a lot of you will have the same ones). Then to finish I added a sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge 'anything goes'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (2nd entry)
Creative Inspirations challenge 'bright and bold colours'
CRAFT challenge 'christmas'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you will pop over to the challenge and join in with us.

Tiddly Inks and Flowers

Good morning everyone, hope you're having a great weekend.

When I was sorting through my digistamps the other day I found (not that it was lost but just neglected) this freebie I'd had from Tiddy Inks called 'Wryn blooms' so I thought it was time she got printed off. I coloured her with Promarkers and cut out with a QuicKutz nesting die. The base card is pearlescent and the papers are Dovecraft 'back to basics'. I used Cheery Lynn 'miniature rose' and Marianne Creatables LR0111 to make the flowers, the butterfly is Hunkydory and the gems are from my stash. I finished it with a peel-off sentiment on a Spellbinders 'opulent ovals' die.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Tiddly Inks challenge 'pastels'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (papers and flowers)
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'perfectly pink'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes + option summer' (3rd entry)
The Sketchy challenge 'Hilde's sketch'
Time Out challenge 'summer + optional twist flowers'
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'Mom or special lady' (3rd entry)
Crafty Little Fairies challenge 'spots and stripes'
Let's Craft and Create challenge 'spots or stripes'
A Creative Romance challenge 'anything goes + option happy birthday'

The forecast is for rain here but at the moment the sun is shining so I'm to join hubby in the garden. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for popping by.

Sailing along

Hello all, and what a lovely sunny day it is here in the East Midlands. It's Friday again and another weekend already - somewhere this week I've lost a couple of days and if anyone finds them please send them back so I can catch up with all the things I'd intended doing!!

There are a few male challenges around at the moment but instead of getting my Dad's fathers day card made I decided to do a boys birthday using one of my pile of LOTV toppers. I must admit that as a square I didn't like this image too much but when I cut it into a circle it's changed it completely and I think the little boy looks so sweet playing with his homemade boat. I used some snippets of spotty paper and the ribbon and peel-off sentiments are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Lili of the Valley Monthly challenge 'male or sporty'
Allsorts challenge 'for the guys'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'numbers'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (2nd entry)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes + option summer' (2nd entry)

CRAFT challenge 'father's day / male'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'nautical'
A Little Bit Crafty challenge 'child's play'

Country View challenge 'only men allowed'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend

Blue and White Christmas

Hi everyone, hope you all well. I've had a good day today and also managed time to get round to catching up with a lot of you.

I've been busy sorting through all the digis I have and deleting some I know I will never print off (oh dear, I can hear the squeals of horror from some of you !!) The rest I put into some sort of order as well as backing them up onto a USB stick and while doing this I came across a couple of Sugar Nellie images that I've never printed and forgotten I even had them.

I bought this digi called 'gift wrapping' from the Sugar Nellie Etsy store and I coloured it with Promarkers and added a little Stickles. I used a blue pearlescent card base with LOTV paper leftovers and I kept it CAS, just adding some pearls from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

The Sugar Bowl challenge 'anything goes'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'no red or green'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (LOTV paper leftover snippets)
Crafty Sentiments challenge 'anything goes'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'mythical things'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'use 3 of something' (3 pearls)
Sparkles Christmas challenge 'favourite colour combo' (blue + white)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a lovely evening

House Mouse Lots of Layers

Good morning to you all. looks like it's going to be another sunny day too.

I'm here with another of my GDT cards for the House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge and this week the lovely Pauline is hosting and has chosen the theme of lots of layers. There are lots of fabulous prizes to be won so why not get out those little mice and their friends and join in.

Now those of you who visit my blog will have noticed I love House Mouse decoupage and so of course for my layers I had to use a sheet from the Joanna Sheen 'fruit and nut' collection. This is also the card that my Dad picked to send to his younger sister on her 92nd birthday last month. Because these little mice need to have all the attention I kept this a CAS design just matting and layering some papers which were a magazine freebie and were a perfect colour match for these delicious strawberries (I love strawberries, don't you?) The sentiment was part of the decoupage sheet and I finished by adding a row of gems from my stash..

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~
Natalie and Amy's challenge 'four legged friends'
As You Like It challenge 'favourite colour duo and why' (because I love to see the strawberries growing in pots)
Crafty Catz challenge 'anything goes'
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'celebrate Mom or special lady' (2nd entry)
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'

I am also entering this in the Paper Mill blog challenge with the theme of 'June'

Thanks for popping by and it would be great if you could head over to the challenge blog to see the fabulous DT inspiration.
