Another Baby Card

Hello everyone and first of all let me take this chance to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year

I have another baby card to show you today and this time I used a digi image called 'enchanted dream' from The Paper Shelter which I coloured with Promarkers. I cut the image with an Xcut nesting die and matted onto a circle of pearlescent card. The embossed background is a Die'sire Embossalicius folder called 'florabunda' which I like because it has large and small flowers with a blank strip in between that you can wrap ribbon around and the letters are Memory Box 'classic lower case' dies. I wasn't happy with the image as I'd made a bit of a mess of a tiny butterfly so I added the little pink flowers to cover things up and finished it all off with the row of flowery pearls.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'let's celebrate' my 3rd entry

Thanks for all your continued visits and support over the past year and for being such wonderful blogging friends.

Baby Girl

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful christmas.

I had a bit of a play yesterday and made a baby card. The image is Whimsy Sylvia Zet 'wee one' stamp coloured with Promarkers and the patchwork paper was a freebie digital from Bearly Mine Designs. I used a Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp and cut the tags with a Poppystamps die. The flower is a magazine freebie die and the pearl and ribbon from my stash.

Merry Christmas

Not long to go now and I've made a dent in next years christmas cards! After seeing that LOTV had an offer on the art pads I just had to buy some - 2 christmas and 1 general - but seeing as I hadn't kept my 2015 new years resolution to use all my LOTV toppers I thought I would crack on with some CAS cards before I put my crafty stuff away.

So this one is for all you of wonderful blogging buddies.

Wishing you all a very merry christmas
and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year

A couple of freebies

Hi all. Just a quick post to let you know about a couple of freebies you may like to check out.

The first is a christmas freebie from The Paper Shelter called 'Autumn Enchantment'  (I think this may be for 24 hours only) and can be found here

The second freebie is from Sylvia Zet which she posted back on October 9th but I forgot to say. Also it tells you how you can buy her images in digital form again

Making a List

Well only one more week to go and here's the last christmas card I'm going to show you which is the one I made for my Dad to give his sister.

The wonderful Santa is a decoupage image printed from the Joanna Sheen 'Giordano Christmas' cd. There are a few layers but I was in a rush to take the photo and get this card in the post that I didn't realise they didn't show up so well. I die cut a computer generated sentiment and matted this along with the paper and image onto gold mirri-card. I layered it all up, adding red ribbon and pearls from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges -

Creative Inspirations challenge 'merry christmas'
Winter Wonderland chalenge 'christmas bingo'  I went for the end row - ribbon / santa / pearls
The Ribbon Girl Card challenge 'anything goes'
Words 2 Scrap By challenge 'twas the night before christmas'
That's Crafty challenge 'anything goes'
Natalie and Amy's challenge 'christmas'

and I shall pop a third entry into each of these two challenges -

Through the Purple Haze challenge 'christmas'
Card Mania challenge 'christmas'

I must admit to having struggled a bit with christmas cards this year.... inspiration was sadly lacking and I'm glad to be putting christmas crafty stuff away so I can have a play with the new goodies I've treated myself to. Well I'm pretty certain I'll be on Santa's naughty list and I always say that if something's worth doing then do it buy it yourself.... and it doesn't matter if a few extra bits fall in the virtual shopping trolley now does it !!

Poinsettia Star

A couple of christmasses ago I got my Dad a decopatch kit hoping to give him a new interest but after seeing it sitting on his cupboard for so long I realised it hadn't taken his fancy so last week the said kit came home with me. After managing to open the glue pot I duly had my first go at ripping up the bits of paper and sticking to the paper mache dog.

The finished creation looked pretty good and there was plenty of paper and glue left over so I decided to play some more.... this time using an Xcut die to cut a star from an old corrugated cardboard box. After leaving the decopatched star to dry I added some Stickles along the edge before decorating it with Poinsettias and Holly leaves cut with Tattered Lace dies. I added some pearls to the Poinsettia centres and more Stickles to the petals. Finally I made a hole with a needle and threaded some baker's twine to make a hanging loop.

It's so dull here today weatherwise so I shone the lamp on the star so that you could see the sparkle a bit better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Our Creative Corner challenge 'wish upon a star'

Mod Squad challenge 'all that glitters'

Creative Artiste challenge 'mixed media anything goes'

and as I used snippets of card for the die-cuts I shall head over for another play at Pixie's Snippets Playground

Winter Birds

I've finished my last christmas card for this year and there are still 11 days to the big day, how good do I feel....  said with a smug look on my face !

This is for my son and I've used a Bugaboo digi called 'winter bird  trio' which I coloured with Promarkers. I used Sakura glitter and clear glaze pens and some Stickles on the image and then layered onto gold Mirri-card. The paper is LOTV and I used Memory Box Lindeman snowflake and Classic alphabet to die-cut from leftover snippets of the gold card. Finally I added a sentiment on sticky pads.

I'm going to skip over and join in the fun over at Pixie's Snippets Playgound where you are challenged to use up your snippets. Word is the nativity rehearsals are in full swing and there are also some tasty goodies to be found behind the bike sheds.

I'll also join in with these challenges ~

Rudolph

Hi everyone, hope you're all prepared for the festivities, or maybe you're like me... each year saying I'll do better the next but never do!

My dad needed some last minute quick cards making so here's one of them. When I was making tags the other week I had some stamped up images left over so made this one into a card. The reindeer and sentiment stamps are Clearly Besotted and I embossed the bottom with a Die'sire 'petite dots' folder before layering onto a snippet of gold mirri-card and adding a couple of 'googly eyes'.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Bluebell Snippets

Evening to you all. I'm just popping over to the Playground with some of my snippet makes and to check up on the christmas nativity rehearsals mayhem!

These three cards were made with a magazine freebie of Wild Rose Studio decoupage images and paper. I only added one layer of the decoupage and kept to a very quick and CAS style with snippets of paper and some peel-offs and sentiments from my stash.

I shall enter these in the following challenges

I'm off to start writing my christmas cards now. I still have a couple left to make but inspiration has completely deserted me so hopefully a break will help. Hope you are all a lot more organised than I am.

Mr Frosty

Well this has been one really busy week, not helped at all by the fact that I've had such a runny nose and sore eyes and sneezes.... definitely slowed things down and caused a few problems in the crafting department!

So here is another finished christmas card. I used a Wee stamp called 'Mr Frosty' coloured with Promarkers and touched up with Stickles and a Sakura glitter pen. The papers are LOTV layered up with white card and silver mirricard and the dies are a Spellbinders ornament and Memory Box ribbon Poinsettia (with extra leaves added). To finish I added some silver peel-offs, pearls and ribbon from my stash.

Such poor light today and I can't get a good photo showing the glitter... but it is there

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Robin

Hello everyone and thanks for popping by to visit on this chilly afternoon. We woke up to a very light sprinkling of the white stuff but it soon disappeared to leave a lovely sunny day and I've even got the washing blowing nicely on the line outside.

I've managed to get another of my christmas cards finished and this is for my Dad. I used a Just Inklined digi 'gatepost robin' which I coloured with Promarkers, added Stickles on the snow and a clear Sakura glaze pen on the berries. Rather than die-cut the image and matt it I decided to die-cut an oval from a piece of linen effect card, and after running a gold calligrapher pen around the edges stuck it on top to make a frame. I found it was easier to line up and stick the image to the linen card first and then attach that to the card base. The sentiment was done on the computer and the poinsettia, holly and mistletoe dies are all Tattered Lace. A tip to get a nice shiny poinsettia - I die-cut the pieces from glossy photographic card, coloured them with Promarkers and then used a tiny brad to put them all together.

and a closer look to show the sparkly snow

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'at least 3 die-cuts'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'things with wings'

Right that's it from me for now. It's my birthday today so I'm going to ignore all the housework and just put my feet up with a nice warm glass of mulled wine. Hope you have a fun weekend whatever you get up to.

Winter Wonderland

Good afternoon to all you blogging friends and thanks for popping by on this wet, windy and cold day. My card today has been made using a decoupage image from the Joanna Sheen 'Christmas in Holly Pond Hill' cd. I love this winter scene with the lamplight and all the lights twinkling in the windows and these little creatures walking in the snow. I kept to a very simple design with just a snippet of LOTV paper, a hammered effect base card and a sentiment from my stash... oh and not forgetting the Stickles to add sparkle to the snow.

Tagging Along

There are quite a few tag challenges around at the moment which has spurred me on to get a few made up ready for when I finally get around to doing some Santa shopping.

I made the tag base from a leftover piece of card using corner and hole punches and used a Die'sire folder 'petite dots' to emboss the bottom. The deer is from the Clearly Besotted 'In print' stamp set with googly eyes added. The sentiment is also Clearly Besotted and the raffia, twine and bells are from my stash.

Zig-zagging with a Butterfly

I was in the mood to make a tag today and after realising that Mrs A's butterfly challenge ends soon I decided to combine it with a few other challenges.

A snippet of white card was cut and punched to make the tag and I stamped the dots with memento inks. The stamp is thick red rubber, cling mounted and circular in shape but I have no idea of the make. I cut some squares from another snippet of card and after running a gold pen around the edges of those and the tag I attached them in a zig-zag shape. The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die and the flowers, gems and ribbon are from my stash.

Festive Foliage and a Tag

I can't believe the weekend is over and I haven't done even half of what I planned but I did manage a bit of crafty time.... christmas themed of course.

I used linen effect card for the base with a snippet of green paper and a silver peel-off sentiment. The image is from Penny Black 'in a pear tree' collection, stamped with Memento inks, cut with an Xcut die and with red Stickles, Sakura glitter pen and pearls added.

and this one shows the glitter pen a little better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything christmas'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'festive flowers and  foliage'
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge 'red and green must be seen'

and I nearly forgot to link up to
CAS-ual Fridays challenge 'precious metals'

While mooching around in Blogland I've been seeing quite a few tags and thought I should be getting some made so hunted around for a bit of inspiration and decided that the same Penny Black stamp would be ideal for what I wanted. When inking the stamp I was careful to clean off the partridge and also the bauble from the centre and stamped it twice - slightly offset - using 2 different shades of green. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and this time I added Liquid Pearls and silver gems to the image. I shaped the top, punched a hole and added the ribbon... all I need to do now is start buying some christmas presents to tie it to (but that will probably end up being a last minute job!)

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Two more for christmas

Apologies for my absence but I got attacked by those dreaded germs that lie in wait just to catch you unawares and then hijack you off to that world where your body feels like it wants to crawl up and hibernate and you realise that the banging noise is not fireworks but is actually in your head. Still at least my head and body have started communicating a bit better and I've been able to get back to some crafting.

I've got a couple of very quick CAS cards using more of those now retired LOTV toppers die-cut and matted onto gold mirri-card and some christmas sentiment ribbon.

Edited to answer Di's questions - The gold frame is the next up in the set of nesting dies and the ribbon is wrapped all around the card with the ends secured under the topper

and to Mrs A - these were the toppers that came 6 to a sheet and got replaced by the Artpads. I think I got rather carried away when buying them and am trying madly to get them used up!

I shall enter this in

Sparkles Christmas challenge 'christmas decorations'

I shall enter this in

Seeing as I used snippets of mirri-card and the very last piece of ribbon I shall also head over to the Pixie's Snippets Playground (but I promise not to sneeze on anyone)

Thanks for popping by and I'll be over to visit you all soon.

Crazy Bird-Day

Hello everyone and thanks for popping by on this very chilly November day. I treated myself to a set of the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps a couple of weeks ago and decided that one of these quirky little characters would be ideal for my Son's birthday card. Instead of heading straight for the Promarkers I thought I'd try something a bit different so out came the Flexmarkers Edited (just got my brain into gear and what I meant to write was Aquamarkers) , paintbrush and a cup of water. This was my first go at watercolouring and I must admit to being rather pleased with myself. I added some googly eyes, printed out a sentiment and used snippets of Core'dinations cardstock to matt and layer onto a hammered effect base card.

Merry Kiss-Mouse

Another wet and chilly day here and not much likelihood of it improving over the weekend so fingers crossed I may get chance to get on with some more christmas cards... after I finish the housework of course !

The image and sentiment I used for this card is one of the decoupage sheets from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse triple cd printed onto photo paper. I don't usually do pink and blue together but I had this last bit of ribbon which was just long enough to tuck under the edges of the LOTV paper with enough spare for a bow.. albeit knotted with some baker's twine. I addded some Tattered Lace snowflakes (cut from snippets of card) with added gems and a snowflake charm to finish.

Butterfly and Numbers

Just fluttering by with my card for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge and the chosen letter this fortnight is N for numbers. I've used a fabulous Woodware stamp 'Delicate daisies' which I was lucky enough to win courtesy of the wonderful Sarn when she was acting as Prefect over at the Playground a few weeks ago (Thanks again Sarn). I coloured it with my usual Promarkers and went for a very CAS style adding some ribbon, silver peel-off numbers and a butterfly from my stash. The butterfly looks more pink in the photo than it actually is.

Colours

Morning everyone and thanks so much for all your lovely messages on my last post. I'm trying to get some cards made (instead of leaving things until last minute) but everything seems to be going wrong and there have been a few ending up in the bin. My card today has survived although I did forget to add the 'stick it' sheet to the card before die-cutting so had to use 'stix 2' micro dots and ended up putting it on the wrong side of half the letters and had to cut more. It's a good job I've got a mountain of snippets!

I needed a birthday card is for my Dad to give my son who will be 41 so as usual when I need some ideas for male cards I headed over to my blogging friend Pauline at Crafting With Cotnob and this is her card which inspired me. I also went for a colour combo to fit in with a few challenges and made it entirely from snippets of card and papers. The sentiment and letters are Memory Box dies and the stars are an Xcut die.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Playground Party and a 95 year old Elephant

Just for those of you who haven't heard all the noise and shenanigans there's a party going on over at Pixie's Snippets Playground to celebrate Miss Di's 200th challenge and I'm heading over with my snippet of a box and a 95 year old elephant!

My daughter is expecting her first baby next year (her second time of being pregnant and things are going well this time) and this will be my first grandchild. My dad was given a silver teething ring when he was born (95 years ago this December) and this was eventually passed on to my son who said he would like to pass it to his baby niece. I got a kraft box to put it in which I decorated using snippets of Dovecraft 'princess fairytale' paper and some kraft and pearlescent card for the die-cut Clearly Besotted elephant and added a little pearl 'eye'.

oops I forgot to line up the images on the lid before I took the photo!

And here's the box with the rather old and battered elephant
which has seen twelve babies through their teething troubles.
It'll be enjoying retirement this time around though and will be
there just for show.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

The elephant is now winging it's way to Australia along with a few baby clothes, maternity wear (took advantage of the Mothercare summer sales) and a pram blanket from my dad. He knitted all the squares and I just sewed them together and crocheted a border around the edge. Oh and if you were in any doubt, this is not going to be a pink baby... she already has a 'Minions' dress & hat and a 'Star Wars' bodysuit waiting for her !!

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and for your greatly appreciated comments

Two by Two

Good afternoon to you all and thanks for popping by.

I've got a couple more christmas cards made following the same CAS design I've used before. Again I used (retired) LOTV toppers cut with QuicKutz nesting dies and matted onto gold mirri-card. I had just enough of the ribbon left for the two cards and then added the card candi to finish.

So I made two CAS cards with two teds on first card, two robins and stockings on second card and two bits of card candi on each card and I used snippets of gold mirri-card and ribbon

Autumn

There's certainly a nip in the air so I decided to go for an autumnal feel and also join in with a few challenges. I'm not too fond of the lower temperatures but must admit the colours of the leaves this time of the year definitely make up for it.

I've used Whimsy Wee stamp 'oak tree girl' coloured with my usual Promarkers and matted onto a circle of gold mirri-card. I went for a kraft base card, papers from my loose pile (so not sure who by) and I added ribbon. lace and pearls from my stash.

Getting ahead

Well the change in the weather has certainly made me realise that it's not that long until christmas and I also have some birthdays before then so I thought I'd better get a few cards made in advance.. and use a few challenges for inspiration too.

My Dad will be 95 in December and his card was the first on my list to get done. I went for a CAS design and a LOTV image which I coloured with Promarkers. A few snippets of paper from Prima for the background, some gold peel-offs, Memory Box die-cut letters.... and job finished!

Engagement Card

Some of you may have seen in my post a few weeks ago that my daughter and her boyfirend got engaged and this is the card I made for them. It was a bit late being made and they only received it yesterday but it was well liked and I was forgiven for the lateness.

I had originally intended to go for a very CAS modern style but wanted to do something a bit more special so decided to head over to a fellow blogger Romantyczka for inspiration as she makes the most wonderful cards which have a very romantic feel to them... well worth a visit.

I really was pleased with what I finally made although I did feel a bit out of my comfort zone. Hopefully it borders on modern and romantic.

Paper ~ Prima

Punches ~ Dovecraft Ribbon heart border, Dovecraft Daisy
Stash ~ Prima butterfly, Hobby House pearls, ribbon, flowers,

Just popping by this evening with a card made entirely from snippets.... Leftover white card for the base, Hunkydory and My Minds Eye papers, and also a snippet of Neenah card for stamping the Clearly Besotted flower which I coloured with Promarkers and cut with the matching die. 60th Birthday

Hi everyone. Firstly apologies again for not having been to visit for the past few days but life really does have an annoying habit of getting in the way of blogging.

This is a card I made for a 60th birthday using an image from a LOTV artpad, Hunkydory flowers, silver peel-offs and some gems. The plain paper is LOTV and the spotted paper is one of my snippets (probably a magazine freebie).

Covered Notepad

Hi everyone and first off I'd like to say a big welcome to my new follower Kevin of McCrafty's Cards. The internet connection has been a bit iffy (technical term) so please excuse me for not having got back to see you all over the last couple of days.

When I went in our local Sainsburys last week I spied some notepads being sold off at the bargain price of 20p each so of course had to put a few in my trolley. This is an A7 size so not too big a job to cover and I went for an autumnal theme for my first play.

I stencilled the card intended for the cover with Memory Box stencil 'texture brilliant' and an assortment of inks, snipped it by hand so that I could put it through the wired top and then tied some yarn (that had been bought for a crochet project) around it. One of my favourite dies is the Memory Box 'chloe stem' as it's so versatile - use it as a single stem, in clusters, add pearls and so on - so I always have a few cut in white card ready for use and I just coloured a couple of them with Promarkers and trimmed to fit behind some flowers with a button added to the centre. Finally I added a couple of butterflies. So all in all just a bit of fun with snippets and stash.

and a close up to show the butterflies a bit better

Christmas Tree Box

Just popping by with a quick post  to show you another decorated kraft box.

I used snippets of paper to cover the lid and decorated it with a die cut star, ribbon (both snippets) and some gems. As the lid was quite tight fitting I decided to stencil the base. I thought it would be great to fill with a few chocolate coins or a little gift.
