Winter Birds

I've finished my last christmas card for this year and there are still 11 days to the big day, how good do I feel....  said with a smug look on my face !

This is for my son and I've used a Bugaboo digi called 'winter bird  trio' which I coloured with Promarkers. I used Sakura glitter and clear glaze pens and some Stickles on the image and then layered onto gold Mirri-card. The paper is LOTV and I used Memory Box Lindeman snowflake and Classic alphabet to die-cut from leftover snippets of the gold card. Finally I added a sentiment on sticky pads.

I'm going to skip over and join in the fun over at Pixie's Snippets Playgound where you are challenged to use up your snippets. Word is the nativity rehearsals are in full swing and there are also some tasty goodies to be found behind the bike sheds.

I'll also join in with these challenges ~

Allsorts challenge 'golden days'

Creative Inspirations challenge 'all wrapped up'

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge 'anything goes as long as it's christmas'

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'let's celebrate'

Memory Box challenge 'season's greetings'

CAS-ual Chic challenge 'snowflakes'

I'll also join a second entry to these challenges ~

Digi Designs challenge 'winter holiday'

Through the Purple Haze challenge 'christmas '

Card Mania challenge 'christmas'

  1. This really is fabulous Andrea - wonderful image and I do love the shades of blue you used. With the backing paper (lovely LOTV of course!) and the pops of gold it's a stunner!

  2. PS, it's me again! Meant to say well done on completing all your cards ahead of time :) I had to capitulate and buy some money/cheque wallet/cards from Amazon. Really gutted as I love making those for a bunch of Len's far off rellies but no way could I have managed this year. Serves me right for leaving them until the end, because I love making them so much :(

Re. the meds - they do seem to be helping (very slowly) like last time but as they're steroids the 'big bang high dose' course is only five days. This time I want to see if they will continue on a lower dose after I finish these on Wednesday but that in itself can bring about other problems. And as this all seems to have been kicked off by some meds I was on for four months in the first place it's a bit of the devil and the deep blue sea, sigh :( Watch this space!

Not to worry, we soldier on and am determined that we'll make the very best of Christmas :)

  10. A delightfully cute image, and blue was the perfect choice to show off this shivering trio! Love the touches of gold, and it is a wonderful card for your sweet son. Good for you at having all your cards done. We did a massive mailing at the post office today. Lost the birthday truck card. A package was mailed to our friend the same day...from the same post office. Package arrived, card didn't. So I emailed an attachment, so that he could see what his card would have looked like, had it arrived!! I'm wondering how many Christmas cards will get lost now! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, TFS & Hugs too.

  12. Lovely hues of blue Andrea and perfectly set off by the hints of gold and perfect for our theme this week, many thanks for joining in at Allsorts. See you over at the playground, I am so hoping I have redeemed myself to get a part in the Nativity - note to self, alcohol is not appropriate in the playground.
