NBUS Hedgehog Party

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend. I've managed to kick myself up the b.... and got my card finished for Darnell's 4th NBUS challenge (at long last). Well it took me several days to decide which of my NBUS to use and I reckon I could easily be joining in if she were up to her 100th challenge!

The NBUS stamp I used is Penny Black 'cake dance' which I coloured with Promarkers and cut with one of my nesting dies. The paper is from my snippets box and I used Core'dinations cardstock for matting. I made the sentiment on the computer and the ribbons, pearls and flowers are all from my stash.

I shall also enter this card in these challenges _

Penny Black and More challenge 'blossoms and bows'
Allsorts challenge 'feature a creature'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'feathered friends / animals'
In The Pink challenge 'lots of layers'

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely and much appreciated comments. Also a reminder I have candy (a £20 Joanna Sheen voucher) if you want to check out the post HERE. There's still a few more days to add your name if you'd like to.

Framed

Here I am back with my second card today. For this I used the leftover part of half a Hunkydory notelet - after I'd cut out a Marianne Design LR0129 doiley die - and attached it with sticky pads to frame an IndigoBlu sentiment. The dragonfly is a die that was a magazine freebie and I just added some gems from my stash to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'freeze frame'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'a cut above' (my 2nd entry)
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 2nd visit this week)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend. Oh and don't forget my candy post if you'd like to add your name for the chance to win a Joanna Sheen voucher.

Butterfly and Corners

I have a couple of cards to show you today but first I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to my new followers, Marjeta and Kitty.

So here's my first card which is for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge where we have the letter C for corners and (of course) a butterfly or butterflies. I'm still on a mission to use up my really old stash so here's another of those 5 inch square pearlescent cards topped with half a Hunkydory notelet. I added a silver peel-off sentiment to a Marianne Design die-cut and then finished it off with a Hunkydory butterfly and some silver gems on the corners.

Thanks for popping by and I'll be back later with my other card

Rudolph Day and a Candy Reminder

First off I'd like to remind you I have candy - a £20 Joanna Sheen voucher. If you'd like a chance to win please click here to see details.

I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit you the last few days but I've had other things on my mind which I won't go into on here. I will be back to catch up with you over the next couple of days though.

Anyways onto my card - this is a very quick CAS and easy make using up old stash. I've decided that this is definitely the year to use up my very old LOTV toppers so this is one from the christmas sheets which I matted onto gold card after using Xcut nesting dies to cut them both. I also had a sort out of my ribbon and lace snippets - the ribbon was saved from chocolate boxes - and I added some pearls from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Rudolph Day challenge 'anything goes christmas'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'warm winter wishes'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'a cut above'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Thanks for your visit today and remember you have another week for my candy.

Something Completely Different

When is a candle not a candle? - when it's made from paper!.... No I haven't gone totally bonkers (well not quite). A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a mixed media substrate pack on a blog hop over at Craft Stamper and in it was a wooden candlestick measuring about 3 inches tall so I thought it was time to get my imagination working and do something with it. Now this is my first attempt at anything like this and all my crafty stash is more for paperwork so this is a rather simple creation.

First of all I got a small ink pad (Color Box pigment brush pad - Heliotrope) and inked straight on to the candlestick, using a foam make-up pad to get in the awkward bits. I left it to dry and then added a couple of flowers and some pearl stamens with Glossy Accents. So now I needed a candle and here's where I had to improvise. My candle is made by rolling a strip of paper around a string 'wick' until it was the right fit for the candlestick. I fnished it off by stamping the scroll pattern with an IndigoBlu stamp and the same Color Box ink.

I shall enter this in the following challenges -

Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge 'take a stamp' (my 2nd entry)
As You Like It challenge 'favourite type of stamp rubber or digi and why' (my 2nd entry) rubber stamps as they are perfect for non flat projects
Allsorts challenge 'flowers and pearls' (my 2nd entry) hope this is allowed
Addicted To Stamps and More challenge 'anything goes'

Fluttering by with Patterned Paper

If you're looking for my candy please check out the sticky post at the top of my blog or click here

I'm here with my card for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge. This fortnight we have the letter P for patterned paper + butterflies and I decided to try a new (for me) technique called camouflaged die-cuts. I saw this card over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop and it stuck in my mind as something to try so I went off and purchased some sticky sheets which I forgot all about sticking to the snippets of white card before cutting the Cheery Lynn butterfly layers! Luckily I remembered to add it to the LOTV patterned paper before cutting. I used a Marianne die to cut both edges of a strip of white card and added a snippet of the patterned paper along the middle with a sentiment, flowers and gems from my stash.

Thanks for popping by and please check out my candy before you leave.

Elephants Never Forget.....

......which would make the Clearly Besotted stamp I've used on this card perfect for birthdays even though the set is called 'baby shower'. I stamped the elephant, cut it using the matching die then fixed it to a hammered effect card base with glue dots and I positioned the gold peel-off sentiments to look as though the nelliephant is spraying the 'happy birthdays'. Finally I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the card and added a die-cut star with peel-off '2u' (and as I hadn't got any peel-off letters I cheated and cut a 0 in half).

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Cuttlebug 2nd anniversary challenge 'festive project with a number 2'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'lions and lambs'
As You Like It challenge 'favourite type of stamp - rubber or digi - and why' (mine has to be rubber as they are great for when you want to use up smaller pieces of card or print awkward shapes)
Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge 'anything goes with a stamp'

and seeing as I used snippets of card for the die-cuts I shall head over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to let this Nellie run amok.

Thanks for popping by and I'll be back this evening with my candy post.

Christmas Pups

Hi everyone, just popping by today with a christmas card for a change. I've used another of the Joanna Sheen Giordano Chistmas collection decoupage sheets. I love this image with the sweet puppies - especially the one who's slipped into the sack behind Santas' back. The paper is a leftover piece so not sure who by and the sentiment is from my stash. A very CAS design as the image is the star.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Wee Springtime Cutie

Well here we are at the start of a new week and I've made another card using up some of my (very) old stash.

This is another pearlescent 5 inch card base which I embossed down the side with a folder that was a magazine freebie so not sure who by. The paper is LOTV and the sweet Sylvia Zet image is a Hobby House topper. I used another magazine freebie to die-cut the flowers adding card candi to the centres, added a silver peel-off to the corner and finished it off with a Magnolia sentiment stamp.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'spring is in the air'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'something old' (card base, topper, silver peel-off, sentiment stamp)
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'die-cuts and punches'

Butterfly and Hexagonal Snippets

Good Morning to you all. I'm here with my card for Mrs A's butterfly challenge and I'll also be popping along to the playground with this one too.

The required H for hexagon had me stumped for a while until I remembered I had some Xcut nesting dies, so using the smallest of the set I cut some hexagons from snippets of Hobby House papers. It was just a case of moving the Hunkydory butterfly and hexagon shapes around on the linen effect base card until it looked okay (although you may be able to spot the mistake I made when sticking them). The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and to finish I added a pearl flourish from the Ribbon Girl.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterfly + H is for hexagons'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'green'
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'green with envy' (Xcut dies + Grand Calibur)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes' (my 3rd entry)
Sister Act Card challenge 'anything goes'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend. My plan for today is to do some housework or maybe just get crafty - but knowing how the days fly by I'll probably get absolutely nothing done!

A 5 inch square pearlescent base card, half a Hunkydory notelet (the striped card), a Hobby House Sylvia Zet topper called 'spring bringer, a couple of Hunkydory flowers with gems added to the centres and a piece of ribbon. Golden anniversary

Hi everyone, I'm here with a very quick post today with a card made using another of those 5 inch square pearlescent bases, snippets and bits & bobs from my stash.

Again I used a Hunkydory notelet cut in half with the Marianne snowflake die cut from gold card (which I creased to give it a bit of depth) and the lace, sentiment and gold peel-off numbers from my stash. So there you have it... a very quick card which does look so much better in real life than it does in the photo.

My GDT spot at Country View Challenges

Good Morning all. I was lucky enough to win the Country View challenge in December and as well as receiving a voucher to spend in their shop I was also invited to join in as guest designer with this months 2nd blogaversary challenge.

With the theme of 'anything goes' I decided to have a play with my PaperArtsy stamps and some box canvas. I used a selection from JOFY09 & JOFY13 sets which I stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Promarkers. The sun was made with a stencil from Memory Box called 'Brilliant' again using Memento ink and I used chalks to finish the background.

For full details of the challenge just pop over to the Country View Crafts challenge blog. I do hope you will join in with the celebrations and show off your 'anything goes' creations and also be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize.

I will enter this in

Sweet Stampin' challenge 'all or nothing (one layer or lots of layers)' I've gone for the one layer.

As You Like It challenge 'favourite anything but a card' as I love making a bright canvas to hang around the home to cheer us up during the winter.

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes' (my 3rd entry)
Simon Says Monday challenge 'anything goes' (my 3rd entry)
Top Tip Tuesday challenge 'rubber stamps only' (my 3rd entry)
The Artistic Stamper challenge 'spring is coming'

Thanks so much for popping by and for all your lovely comments which are really appreciated.
