CAS Spring Fever

Back with another card - this time a very quick and CAS design to incorporate a few challenge themes.

A while back I saw this card by Di of Pixie's Crafty Workshop made using a Memory Box Piestra border die which looked fabulous so I ended up buying said die. I die-cut and matted onto some yellow card then added a kraft tag with a couple of die-cut Poppystamps 'fairy flowers'.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Poppystamps challenge 'spring fever'
Less Is More challenge 'include a tag'
That's Crafty challenge 'let's keep it simple'
Country View challenge 'use kraft card'

That definitely is it from me for today. Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely comments

Pink and Shapely

A couple more days and we'll be in to May. I think I blinked and missed April and I'm still running around trying to catch up with myself.

So without further ado here's a card I made trying a different (for me) shape. I have seen quite a few tri-fold cards around on blogs just lately and decided to have a go at one. I know you can buy dies that will cut and crease the card but I've made mine by hand. I used a full A4 sheet of card so when folded I end up with a tall thin card and the papers are leftover Snippets of Hunkydory sheets. The stamp is Penny Black 'scripted blooms' which I dusted with pink chalk and added pink Stickles to the blooms. The word stamp is also Penny Black (fast becoming a favourite of mine) and I added ribbon, gems and a butterfly from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Stamping Sensations challenge 'pretty in pink'
Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays' (my 2nd entry)
The Artistic Stamper challenge 'flora and fauna'
In The pink challenge 'make it sparkle'
Deep Ocean challenge 'shaped card'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 2nd entry)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'take your pick' (I went for the theme - quote stamp)
Allsorts challenge 'bring on the bling'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'fancy folds'
Digi Design challenge 'fun / fancy folds'
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes'
Crafting From The Heart challenge 'always anything goes'

I am busy at the moment getting some cards made ready for my aunts birthday but will pop round to visit as soon as I can. Till then, thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a good week.

Fluttering by with Lace

Hi and a very big welcome to my new follower Sandy of Simply Sandy. Thanks for popping by.

I've been having a crafty day today - most of which was just playing and trying out new ideas to use up my old stash. So here is my first play using a couple more of those 'country diary of an Edwardian lady' papers. From an old cardboard box I cut a square and covered with the first sheet. Then I cut a frame which I covered with the second sheet and stuck to the square (carefully matching up the papers). I added the verse using an IndigoBlu stamp, then decorated the frame using a Hunkydory butterfly, some gems and my last little snippet of white lace (just enough to go round each corner).

Must admit for a first attempt I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterflies + L is for lace'
Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use snippets'
Scribble and Scrap challenge 'always anything goes'
My Craft Creations 'anything goes'

I'm off now to tidy up my mess and I'll be round to catch up with you all later. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Christmas Teds

Gosh it's the 25th April already and time for another Rudolph day... so I've used some more of my very old stash to make a CAS card.

I've used another of my (now discontinued) LOTV toppers and gone for the same design as my 'christmas rabbit' card as I like the finished effect and it's so quick and easy to make. I wrapped a piece of ribbon around a deckled edge base card, added the topper which I'd die-cut and matted onto gold mirricard, then added some card candi.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Rudolph Day challenge 'christmas'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'colours from your national flag' (I used red + white from the English flag)
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge '20 minutes or less'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'cute as a button' (my 3rd entry and I went for cute)
That's Crafty challenge 'let's keep it simple'
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes'

I hope you all have a good weekend. It's turned rather cloudy and chilly here so it's either a bit of crafty time or the housework for me today.

Hedgehog Garden Party

Hi everyone. I'm still on track with my crafty sort out and last night I sat with the laptop going through all my digi stamps, sorting them into categories and making sure they were all backed up onto a USB stick. I also noticed there are rather a lot that I've never printed off so thought it about time I used some of them.

This adorable image is from Di's Digi Designs and is called 'Henrys mushroom party' which I coloured with Promarkers and chalks. The sentiment is a LOTV stamp, the paper is Prima 'doodle deux' collection and I used leftovers of kraft card for layering. Then I just added some flowers from my stash to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Digi Designs challenge 'include an animal'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 3rd entry)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'cute as a button' (my 2nd entry and I went for cute)
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes'
Country View challenge 'use kraft card'
Creative Corner challenge 'for a child'
Graph'it challenge 'flower power'

Thanks for popping by and for taking the time to leave me much appreciated comments

You're a Star

We're enjoying fabulous weather again today so just a quick post from me before I get out in the sunshine in order to improve my vitamin D levels!

I've just put together another very quick and CAS card for a few challenges and also to add to the charity giveaway pile. I used a Die'sire dots folder to emboss the snippet of kraft card, Xcut nesting dies to cut stars from more snippets of card and the letters are the bits leftover from the Memory Box 'grand merry christmas' die. The sentiment tag is recycled from an old card, and the button and ribbon are from my stash (but originally came atached to purchases of new clothing)

and here's another angle to show the letters a bit better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Creative Inspirations challenge 'seeing stars'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'cute as a button'
Allsorts challenge 'quick and simple does it' (my 3rd entry)
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 2nd entry)
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'button up' (using a Grand Calibur)
Crafting Musketeers challenge 'it's a mans world'
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'ribbons and buttons'
Country View Crafts challenge 'use kraft' (my 2nd entry)
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes' - this is their final challenge
Scrap & Craft challenge 'tie it up!! use ribbon or twine'

So that's it from me for now. Thanks for your visit and I'll be popping round to see you all later.

Fluttering by with just a note

Back today as promised with the card made using leftover snippets

I've used a 4 x 6 inch deckled edge card base for this and the rest of the sheet of 'country diary of an Edwardian lady' paper from my last card which I matted onto a leftover bit of card. Mrs A's wants us to use M for music notes for her butterfly challenge which nearly had me stumped but after searching high and low I found this music stamp on the Clearly Besotted 'rockin robin' stamp set, which along with a Cheery Lynn die-cut butterfly means she hasn't got me beat and I'm able to join in the fun again. The sentiment is also Clearly Besotted and I used a QuicKutz nesting die-cut to stamp on. So there you have it - another very quick CAS card made in minutes and which does look better IRL than on the photo.

I've made this card for the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterflies + M is for music notes'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Less Is More challenge 'up, up and away' (the butterfly)
Allsorts challenge 'quick and simple does it' (my 2nd entry)

So that's it from me for today. It's pretty dull and chilly today so I'm off to have a crafty play while I'm in the mood. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you may be up to.

Words and Flowers

Afternoon to you all, hope you're having a great weekend.

I've been having a problem trying to get myself motivated just lately so this morning I decided to have another mini clearout of the crafty cupboard to use up some more of my very old stash. I came across some papers - Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady - which were a magazine freeebie and these will be my next 'use it all up' project.

I cut down one of the sheets and stamped it with a Penny Black sentiment before matting onto card and sticking to a hammered effect base card. Then with the addition of a Cheery Lynn die-cut butterfly and a couple of pearls I had my first finished card. It took me all of 10 minutes and so I went on to make another with the leftover snippet of paper which I'll be back with tomorrow.

I made this for the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'quick and simple does it'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'words, words, words'
Curtain Call challenge 'inspiration photo - bouquet' (although mine is a garden bouquet with red and purple flowers)
Scribble and Scrap challenge 'anything goes'

Wee Posey

Well aren't we being lucky with the weather - I think spring has definitely sprung here and I hope it's as warm and sunny where you are.

I actually got around to making a card this morning using a Sylvia Zet Wee stamp called 'Posey' which I coloured with Promarkers and cut with a QuicKutz nesting die. The background paper is Prima, sentiment is LOTV and the swirly die is Memory Box 'elegant scrollwork. The ribbon, lace, flowers and pearls are all from my stash.

(you can see the sun shining through the window onto the card!)

I shall enter this in the following challenges -

Allsorts challenge 'bingo' (ribbon/flowers/die-cuts and lace/flowers/pearls)
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'any image + add ribbon or lace'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (card for die-cuts, lace)
Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'
Loves Rubber Stamps challenge 'pearls and swirls'
The ABC challenge 'H is for happy birthday'
As You Like It challenge 'favourite alcohol markers or distress inks (I find them much easier to blend)
Magnolia-licious challenge 'spring into April'
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes'
Crafty Senttiments Designs 'anything goes'

So that's it from me today. Thanks for taking the time to pop by to see what I've been up to.

I started off by cutting a tag with a Marianne Design die and decorating it with some ribbon, lace, Cheery Lynn and Marianne Design dies and some flowers. Then I decided to make it into a card with a snippet of paper, a silver peel-off sentiment and some gems.

Christmas Rabbit

Just popping by with a quick post today as I really want to get outside and enjoy this fabulous weather we're having.

I'm still trying to get through some of my older stash so for this card I used one of my LOTV toppers which I cut with a nesting die and matted onto gold mirricard. I've gone for a quick and CAS design so all I added was a bit of ribbon and card candi.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Winter Wonderland challenge 'let it snow'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes with the option of rabbits'

Black !!

Well to work off some of those brightly wrapped choccie eggs I decided to take up a challenge this morning - to make a card which is predominately black.

This is a colour you don't find me using very often which is why I've still got a nearly full pad of Paper Cellar black & white papers (bought about 3 years ago!). I picked one with a pattern that would make the perfect background for the Memory Box orchard tree frame die as there's foliage and a bird sitting on a branch, so it was just a case of lining the two up and sticking in place. I used the negative part left after cutting the die as a frame and after adding a piece of ribbon and a Clearly Besotted sentiment I attached it all to a 5 x 7 inch card base.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Less Is More challenge 'predominantly black'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'buttons +/or bows'
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'happy birthday'
Die Cut Divas challenge 'in the garden'

Just realised I'd forgotten to link up to
Natalie and Amy's challenge 'frame it'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today and for all your lovely comments.

Engagement

Happy easter to you all, hope you're having a great weekend and not feeling sick after eating too much chocolate!

I'm just popping by with a card I made using the very last of my old pearlescent 5 inch base cards and again I used half a Hunkydory notelet for the background. The floral garland is a Memory Box die and I added a few punched Dovecraft daisies with pearl centres. I made the sentiment on the computer and finished it off with a Hunkydory butterfly.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'handmade flowers'
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes' (2nd entry)
Card Mania challenge 'flowers'
Sisters Of Craft challenge 'anything goes'
Crafty Calender challenge 'add a sentiment'
Party Time Tuesdays challenge 'anything goes' (3rd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the bank holiday. I'm off now to tuck into a nice choccie egg - well I am still very underweight so need to try and put on a few pounds somehow!!
