Poppystamps Tag

There are a few challenges I'd been meaning to join in with but kept changing my mind on the design and as they finish today I sat and had a crafty play this morning and finally put this tag together.

It's made from snippets of card and designer papers with a bit of ribbon from my stash. I used a Memory Box dots stencil to ink the background, Poppystamps 'fairy flower' die for the greenery and 'blooming posie' die for the flowers with Stickles added to the centres. The ladybird is a Memory Box die and the butterflies are punched.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Poppystamps challenge 'the heat is on'
Scrapy Land challenge 'pockets / tags + brand die Scrapy Land sells'
Creative Artiste challenge 'anything goes with butterflies and flowers'

and as I used up some snippets I'm heading over to the playground

Cool Snowflakes

I can't believe how quick this week has gone but at least there's the bank holiday weekend to look forward to... fingers crossed the weather stays fine and sunny.

I managed to take a bit of time to make a very quick CAS card using some snippets of silver mirri-card, a peel-off sentiment and a couple of gems from my stash. Those super snowflakes are cut with a Memory Box 'Lindeman snowflake' die.

A very easy card and the hardest part was trying to get a good photograph of the silver and white

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Memory Box challenge 'cool thoughts for warm days'
Rudolph Days challenge 'christmas'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my second visit)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend

Pink Anniversary

Hi everyone, hope all is well in your neck of the woods. My week is going well and I had a lovely day at my Dads yesterday with a house full of visiting family... we had a buffet lunch and lots of lovely chatter and catching up.

This week has been pretty busy but I did take a bit of crafty time today to make a card for a few challenges. The pink spotty paper is Hunkdory and the frame is Memory Box 'twirling vine'. I hand cut a banner and used Clearly Besotted stamps for the sentiment. To embellish I added a small piece of ribbon (which was from a box of chocolates), flowers and gems from my stash and a Cheerly Lynn die cut butterfly.

Card Mania challenge 'anniversary'

Flower Power

My card today is one of those that came together so quick and easily and which I'm pleased with.

This super decoupage bear image and sentiment is from Joanna Sheen's 'Gruffies & Happy Hoppers' cd. The background paper is Prima 'fairy belle' collection and the darker piece is from my loose sheet pile so not sure where from. To finish I added lace, flowers and a silver peel-off corner from my stash.

Citrus Sketch

Just popping by tonight with a very quick post. This is a card I made for a couple of challenges which end soon.

Over at Freshly Made Sketches they are celebrating their 200th challenge with a super sketch and at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge the theme is citrus. So here's my card using Clearly Besotted stamps and ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for popping by and taking the time to leave a comment.

O Christmas Tree

Hi everyone, thanks for popping by and a warm welcome to my new follower Michelle. I made this card last night following a sketch and a few themes and also to use up some of my growing pile of snippets.

I used a Die'sire petite dots folder to emboss the base card and a magazine freebie folder for the snippet of gold card. No prizes for guessing the image is a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and the snowflake is a Tattered Lace die cut from another of those snippets with a gem added to the centre. The metallic red card is a snippet and the baker's twine is from The Ribbon Girl.

and here's a closer look at the embossing

Pretty Clean and Simple

Don't you just love snippets and what can be created from them - well this is one of those times I can sit back feeling pleased with myself for being a hoarder.

I made a card last month using my new Memory Box 'poinsettia ribbon' die which I'd cut out in gold mirricard but hadn't used the petals so they were carefully saved for future use. I'd also cut the die in a snippet of red metallic card which had only been big enough to cut the piece I used on this card. I put the two together and added a gem in the centre. The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny, the peel-off sentiment is from my stash (the last of a sheet which I've had for years) and to finish I rounded the card corners with a punch.

Butterfles and Washi Tape.... or is it?

For those of you who haven't yet fluttered over to Mrs A's Butterfly challenge the theme this time is W for Washi tape. Now I have never posessed any of the stuff so I knew I would have to go shopping.... or would I?

Here is the card I sat and made last night. The butterflies are Hunkydory and the sentiment is Clearly Besotted. As for the "Washi" tape - well take a look at the last photo and let me know what you think.

and here's what I used for my "washi" tape

Okay it's not smooth like washi tape but I think the texture gives it a bit of interest and it is quite see through.... plus I get to make my own designs.

I hope you're all having a great weekend. I had some super news from my daughter (in Australia) this morning to let me know she and her boyfriend have got engaged... so a long chat on the phone and a big smile on my face.

Evening to you all and a very special welcome to my new followers.

I'm here with a quick CAS card I made using a snippet of patterned paper and a Clearly Besotted rose stamp which I coloured with Promarkers and cut with the matching die. To finish I added some gems from my stash. I was going to add a sentiment but decided to leave it plain for any occasion as it's going in the fundraising pile.

JOFY Flowers

Hi everyone, well another week away from Blogland and my aches and pains are at last subsiding.... but my mojo disappeared along with them!  I started looking through my stamps and hubby said that the JOFY ones were his favourites so I popped over to the PaperArtsy blog for inspiration and found oodles of it from the DT.

I was inspired by the cheery bright colours, stencilling and layers and that was what I decided to incorporate in my card. The stamps I used are JOFY 09 and 13 which I coloured with Promarkers and with extra layers cut out and added on sticky pads. I also added a clear glaze with a Sakura pen and used Memory Box stencil 'texture brilliant' for the sun. I dabbed a blue chalk sky and added the (cut up) sentiment on sticky pads. Finally I put it all on a base made from linen effect card.

and here are a couple more which may show the glaze a little better

Hubby did a great job of cleaning and fixing the overheating of my laptop... and he even had a screw left over after putting it all back together! Works fine though so no problem and just the obvious comment from me!

Thanks so much for popping by and hopefully I'll be catching up with you all over the coming week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Ladybird, Ladybird

Firstly, thank you for your well wishes and your visits. I've spent minimal time on the laptop the last few days and my back is a lot better... just pain in my neck and shoulders now so hopefully on the mend.

I have been pottering about crafting and have a card to show you that I've made for a few challenges. This little cutie is a Mo Manning image which I coloured with Promarkers. The pink starry paper is from Dovecraft and the snippets are Hunkydory. I used a Marianne Creatables die under the flowers and All Occasion Dies for the butterflies. The gems, ribbon and flowers are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
